    Morning all

Today is not starting out well. I wake up to hear on the radio that part of my route to work is closed due to a nasty accident and fallen power cables. In the words of the radio presenter "the police are diverting the lorries via xyz - car drivers are having to fend for themselves". The only alternative route is either about an extra hour's by main roads or an extra half an hour cross country. As it's absolutely pouring down and there's a flash warning out for more heavy rain for until 10am and the cross country route follows a river and is prone to flooding it's going to be an interesting journey to work. I think I'll leave the dog at home, jump in the bath right now and leave pronto.

Wish me luck ladies and have a good day.

Soappie- may luck follow you today and make you journey a little easier.

Not really up to much today. DS has playschool this afternoon so will do some tidying then.

Have to admit when DS went to playschool yesterday I had a sleep on the settee . It was lovely. Thank you so much for having bathroom day. It is the one time that I am really glad I don't have a study-less tidying to do :D

G&B - well done    Edin or HW?

The offers i've had are from HW, i have applied to Edinburgh too. They havent got back to me yet, i would prefer to go to Edinburgh because it is on the right side of the city for me. But Heriot Watt has a very good reputation for science and engineering, HW was my back up if Edinburgh turned me down.
I was surprised how quickly HW got back to me, i only applied about 10 days ago:o Either way though i will be a proper student come september, i'm dead excited, its very sad:rotfl:

Morning everyone! Am all refreshed, well full of coffee more like! Even though temps here were 35+ deg yesterday, today is a bit cooler, it's raining a little bit so actually have energy. Hubby was a star and came home to take me and DD2 to school so he took her to school and i went to the naafi for my monthly ration of 800 ciggies:o and got some pop and lunch for madam (cos i am lazy and couldnt think what to make for her!).

Also got some spray stain remover to see if it will work. Being married to a chef, its murder trying to keep the whites looking white, especially when he comes home covered in spag bol! Add to that 2 new cloths and 2 scrubbers and I managed to spend £100! God i hate that the exchange rate is so pants just now, normally that would only have cost about £70! Oh well back to the grindstone!

G&B, I did my degree at UHI because it meant I didnt have to move as well. It is on the other side of Inverness from my mam and dad so only had to get the bus and I was there. I had some blooming good times, I would love to go back and do something else (something I wanna do!) - maybe one day I'll get to lol.

Right am off to do some flying ... don't worry I will take it easy and not do anything that I shouldn't. I promise ;)

Just want to say how impressed I am gunsandbanjos.

It's throwing it down here, and I have a boatload of washing to do and a defective tumble dryer. I can do (at least some of) today's list while DS is with me, but when he is napping I want to try and unblock some of the jams that are holding me up - clearing out a large walk in cupboard, so I have a place to put a load of the carp from the kitchen, so I can clear the kitchen and cut down the work time in there and get the everest of ironing sorted so that I don't spend my life looking for things...

That is if I can survive the tablets today.

Thank you again for the lists pigpen, they are a life saver.
    Always another chapter

    Well done G & B that's a real confidence boost I bet!

lil_me actually yeah chocolate and maybe skip the drops! lol

I had an OKish day yesterday, didn't do all on the list but it's not much leftover. I had to go to docs for a coil check, but when I got there she wanted to do the full Well Woman thing. So I got weighed, BP, urine sample, etc and had to answer stuff about alcohol and smoking which felt a bit weird considering I had gone to see if my 'strings' were still there (stupid in itself because I could have told them they are!) and a smear test.
I told her, I'm actually a stone heavier than I usually am at the moment, and afterwards she said I'm on record as being 5'8 - I'm not I'm 5'9!! So she measured my height and said yes, you are 5'8 or near enough but the measure stick might have been hammered in at the wrong height! This meant that they have me on record as being at the top limit of my BMI range for my 'height' (and anymore I'll be overweight! - I'm forever frowned upon by other people if I so much as mention a diet because I look slim enough not to need it) whereas if I am 5'9 I am smack bang at halfway. Humph - will be getting out my measuring devices and measuring again, and if I'm still right I'll just ignore her.

    K here's my list update:
