Hi, wondered if someone could give me a little advise on shares.... I know very little if anything at all.

    I
    Many thanks

    I'm assuming this is HBOS...

eitherway.. check the small print,,, you should find that the the scheme has some sort of bonus if you don't buy shares... one free month or something... if you cash in early you won't get that. and the shares might  recover, to over the buy price. under normal circs the most you stand to lose is the intrest you'd get by saving the money in a normal savings account.

nb you wouldn't be allowed to invest the money directly into the new scheme... you'd have to use it to pay in month by month again.

def talk to an independant financial adviser before doing anything tho...

hbos are a bit risky at the moment, tho i'm guessing you know that, as u work for them.

HBOS shares down another 3.5% today so far. That's on top of yesterday's 7% fall.

The housing market crash has only just begun. It's forecast to last 2-3 years. These shares could fall another 50%+ by the time it's over. If I still had them I'd sell them pronto.

    Hi there,
My daughter has the HBOS shares she is only 17 so I hold them for her. Do you reckon they have got so low now that it may be worth keeping them and buying the others at half price. In 5 yrs maybe they will regain some value?
Surely it gets to a point where the price is so low that its hardly worth selling them and may as well wait for it all to pick up.
I have no knowledge of shares as you can tell and its only a small amount but a lot to a young girl. Is everyone selling? Thanks for reading...

Somebody certainly selling them. They went down 7% yesterday, 5% today. Something's definitely up. Just because a share price halves doesn't mean it has to go back up again. As Northern rock shareholders will tell you..........

Share price was over £10. Now it's below £3.

It could go below £1 the same as Northern Rock, Bradford and Bingley did.
