Hi ok....maybe i was a bit harsh, I thought you were taking the p*** out of the drop in shares. It isn't a big deal for me but some people may have lost a lot. Do you think it is their own fault though for buying shares in banks? I'm just interested.

On second thoughts perhaps it is the wrong place to have a broader discussion as this is about HBOS shares only. I don't want to start hijacking your thread.

I understand your cynicism regarding the system but want to make the point that not everyone with these shares are middle class capitalist pigs!!

HBOS shares down 3.5% onMonday, down 7% on Tuesday and down 12% Wednesday. I see a pattern emerging here. ;)

Kate i agree people have shares from all walks of life, which is why i'm saying by all means do what you like,BUT you have really hit the nail on the head with your remark of middle class capitalist pigs, these same people will tell you to keep your shares, whils't all along they are selling their's behind your back..Share price don't drop this quick for no reason ;)

And isn't also funny how shares have dropped so much today when the EU have made a statement about warning the UK, regarding the Deficit

I sold the remainder of my shares this morning, I should have got about 300p
maybe they will recover in the long term, but I am fed up checking the price each day to see how much I have lost on the day.

I think they are 258p now so in the short term it looks a good move and I don't have to worry about another 'Northern Rock'.

Personally I can't see them being the next Northern Rock. Somebody would bail them out. That isn't to say the share price won't fall alot further though.

So the rights issue price has been breached, I wonoder what happens here?
The rights issue price is supposed to be underwritted they paid someone to puy the shares at 275p if they dropped below.
But that same thing happened with Bradford and Bingley, the underwriters 'renaged' on the deal, which is a bit like you insuruing your house and then when it burns down or whatever the insurer turning round and saying 'actually we don't want to insure it anymore' so we won't be paying out.
I expect this same con-trick will be pulled with HBOS.

The Chairman Andy Hornby has a degree in English would you believe.
He also has a MBA, a master of business administration, now I would hate to think how things would be if he was rubbish at business administration.
