• Agree there's some great bargains - got my dad a digital camera yesterday for approx £90inc VAT when the cheapest internet price was £115-20.

One word of caution : I did spot they're being a bit naughty. Towards the end of the promos, there's a recordable DVD...seem to recall reduced to £175 from £199. Noticed in Costco earlier this week that a near identical one (1 digit different in code, facilities/case appear to be identical) was actually selling for £189. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I suspect the price may go up to £199 just before the relevant offer week...
I really must stop loafing and get back to work...
• Did the passport voucher book arive in the post like it usually does? I haven't had one.

There was a box full of passport voucher books at costco entrance when I went and it was "help yourself".

• Hi,

In repsonse to one of the posters - yes our passport came through the post - but there are sometimes spares available as you go in (but there wasn't last night in our local one).

I would question the quilted toilet rolls - yes, they were reduced significantly, but I think if you actually look at the number of sheets per roll, there is about 100 sheets less than the normal unquilted Costco rolls, and therefore I don't think it was such a good deal. (I also don't like quilted - bring back Izal ;) )

The pork loins were lovely too - as noted on MS old style.

What is the easiest way to become a Costco member, I called our local store during the week and was given another number to call but it is never answered :(

Thanks in advance :)

Easiest way mate is to open a company/shop and join.

Or find someone who has a shop/company to join and give you a card.

If you run a business - it is quite straightforward, I believe - check out www.costco.co.uk . Membership is also open to other groups of people, e.g. I can join because of where I work. Why not email them:- memberservices@costco.co.uk

Alternatively, ask at the CS desk at your local store.

Just be aware that they are not always the cheapest - you need to know your prices - but the quality of their stuff is excellent - particularly their meat, fish and even apple pies! :naughty:

I got the passport and the leaflet in the post a few weeks ago. There are bargains to be had in Costco but remember unless you really want them they aren't bargains! The items on sale for Christmas are very eye appealing and as they are from America you can't get them over here. The rolls of Christmas wrapping paper is lovely. I always buy the large roll in one pattern and this year the underside has it all marked out in squares so you can cut a straight edge - if need be!

Also I always get my books from there because they are usually cheaper...............:).

The mince is very good but my lot don't like pork but we do like the carrot cake! Yummy yum yum:)
