The best option for getting an instant health insurance quote is to do it online.
Really? This is despite most of the PHI providers not providing online quotes and most internet quote portals not being authorised to give quotes on all PHI versions. The internet has literally endless options for getting information
And a lot of it is complete rubbish, lies or misinformation.and health insurance is no different.
Prove it then. Give as a good resource with online quotes and provider comparisons for PHI.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I have a policy with American Life. I got one after i was contacted by them years ago, i mainly got it because i had lost my dad to cancer and my mum had just had a brain tumour and breast cancer, but also bcos someone i knew had already had one and had her 15 year payout... it does accrue interest on the ammount you put in!:j0

I can't understand why you were told that it had to be intrusive female cancer and that you would have to be virtually dead to claim.... The policy does cover you getting all forms of hospital treatments for your cancer and your recovery and, in the event that the worst should happen, it covers money for your children until their 18th birthday!0

Hi, never posted a thread before, hope this works and is viewed. I am 33 years old and was diagnosed with aggressive breast last year whilst 28 weeks pregnant. Luckily 5 years previously I took out a Well woman plus cancer insurance. I would recommend this policy to any female, the company has been great at responding and paying out quickly with no fuss. It does pay out a lump sum, plus monthly amounts and for overnight hospital stays relating to your cancer. Some may argue that with our NHS why will this be needed. Our NHS is brilliant and the treatment received has been brilliant and free. However, the effects you are left with from chemo leaves you limited on your daily activities. I have found that the additional money paid for a cleaner, extra days in nursery for my son and covered additional bills due to the cancer. Please consider what sick pay you will be entitled to if you got cancer, who can help with childcare, trips to Christies etc. It has shocked my husband and I as to how much help you need and to have no additional financial worry is a huge blessing. Your treament will last nearly 12 months. I have just had my mastectomy in Jan 11 and was diagnosed in June 10, I still have more treatment to come.
I hope this helps with anyone wondering if to take it out an insurance policy. The parent company is Alico based in Croydon. Tel number 02086906000.

Hi,
I have the 15 year plan also. I have just received a letter today from them (new name for company being Alico). Phone numbers as follows: Customer Care Line 0800 092 8090 and customer claim line 0845 604 1375. Should you require the address it is Invicta House, Trafalgar Place, Brighton, BN1 4FR. Hope this helps.0 -
I would recommend this policy to any female
I am sorry for your situation and hope all goes well for you in future but I think you misunderstand those that say this option is not that good. If you compare this plan to a full critical illness plan you get the same coverage on a CI policy but also a lot more as well. With these type plans you are limiting yourself to a very narrow range of illnesses.

I am a Sales Manager for American Life and having been selling the policy to women for the last 2 years. and the answer to your question is once you have been given the all clear from any of the 7 female cancers for 3 yeas you are covered once you provide proof from the medical profession.
with regards to pay out on diagnoses they are excatly the same you can get upto £72,000.00 on a level 5 cover age depending when you take out the plan. you are entitled to get a women with no chldren income diganoses, hospitalisation benefit, an element of death benfit, lump sum diagnoses benefit. and if you do have children by other means i.e adoption for example then children in the family benefit also. other than that nothing changes. but if you dont claim at all after 20 years in to the plan or when you hit 65 you will get a 100% tax free refund of all the premiums to have paid in to plan. I hope this anwers your question
Thankyou
I have just seen other posts giving the information that i asked for. However I have not recieved any letters telling me that the company has changed its name.0 -
i found this thread by googling 'american life insurance contact uk'.
i dont have a well woman plan but i have one for my oldest two children. i have no docs etc, and every time i've tried to google them nothing has come up! it seems very strange to me that there is no easily accessible website, especially in this day and age! there's been 3 different numbers posted so far, and tomorrow i'll be calling all of them!
im not sure what i'm covered for, all i know is my children get £1000 on their 18th birthdays, if nothing awful happens, and touch wood it wont, and i know their covered for 'childhood cancer' and meningitis. i pay £10.47 a month for the two of them, which isnt alot for the reasurance, but only if i' going to get anything back!
i'll post back tomorrow once i've called, and asked why its such a struggle to find them, and why they havent informed everyone of their new whereabouts!0
