OS Daily Saturday 31st May 2008

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 31st May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning.

Well things are calming down somewhat.... I managed another long shift finishing at 10pm, but now I am off until Wednesday. I have offerd to work on Monday or Tues if they wish to pay.... I will see if the phone rings. In some ways I really hope it does not, but in the current climate a few extra quid would be helpful. I just let the chickens and ducks out, and the grass has got rather high... Rabbits have eaten most of the peas and the mess from the accident still has not been touched. So must get that sorted today.....

Need car tax today. I was thinking of getting 6 months just in case the government bring in the new changes as my car is sure to go up. So I figure another 12 months in December will mean that I might have half a chance of selling the car, taxed and also save money in the lonmg run by getting several months at the lower rate. I do hope they change their minds though.

Well I think I will get on with the million things I have to do..... Cheers

    Good Morning N9eav

Glad you have a couple of days off. Dont know what will happen about the car tax - the goverment does need to back down if they ever hope to win another general election but they cant keep backing down can they

Lovely sunny day here today - hope it lasts. Am about to jump in the bath and wake DD up so we can get to town nice and early. DS has my nieces birthday party this afternoon.

Not sure what to do for dinner as really dont know what time we will be home, think will get some chicken out of the freezer and see from there.

    Have a great day.

    morning neav and essex-girl

up early again, you think kids would love a lie in but no! also have them home on monday as they are off for a local holiday and dh was meant to have a day off on mon but has to go in until 11, think they have to do that sometimes on a monday even if its a day off, but will get paid for that so im not complaining:D

really dont know what to do today, so will either go a long walk with the kids or take them shopping, more hassle going shopping as 3 kids on a bus is a nightmare! hmmm choices choices:rotfl:

going to try my hand at making sweet potato cottage pie today, saw it in a mag and it looks yummy, although with me cooking it doubt it will turn out that way:rotfl:

    hugs

Well they might have to. They were elected by the people and if they don't do waht the people want they will be ousted. I think that while the economy was doing OK they tried to sneak things in the budgets... but now people are a lot more vigilant. The whole country had become far too complacent. Time to get like the French. Protest everything.

    good morning everyone.
not sure what today will bring. kids seem to be at a loss today with no plans...but teenagers are not usually interested in days out with mum unless it involves shopping!

tempted by a local flower show...but crowds are a bit off putting. sex and the city sounds good but imagine it will be busy too. will have a coffee and give it some thought. whatever Saturday is not OS here so there will be no chores! ;)

    hope everyone is feeling better.

    Hola from rainy Spain

Arrived at the house around 8pm last night. Very good, but long journey. Dodgy connection, so will be back with you when sorted out a 24/7 dial up.

    Take care

    Morning all!
Sex and the City day today-ie window shopping, the movie and then a meal with some friends, should be good! My last treat of June before it even begins!

Got some hoovering to do-can't do much else as we have no water! OH is sorting out a plumber-that's his bonus gone, but it's essential.

Going to curl up with a glass of juice and finish off some letter writing, then my chores and getting ready for the day.

Have a pleasant Saturday everyone, hugs to those who need/want.

Morning to those above and those to come below.

Lovely weather here today so a bit of pottering before work this afternoon. Sad as I am I cannot decide tonight between "I'd do anything" or "Britain's got talent". Why do they put them on together. Meat is out defrosting for the roast tomorrow and also for cold meat on Monday.

Hope you all have a great day today and a wonderfull weekend.

Ooooh, I'm so looking forward to it tonight!!! :j :j

DH has already been for his haircut, so he's smart enough when he goes to see his mum today. :D And for when he's dropping me off at the station for me to come to London, naturally. Maybe I should buy him a chauffeur's cap? :D

I've got my book for the train, so fingers crossed that no one is sitting in my seat. In fact, it's so good that I might just have to miss my lunch appointment and Boyzone. Only joking. :D

I spoke to my brother last night and it sounds as though grandma is settling down a little. Apparently she wants him to pass onto my dad that if she doesn't come out tomorrow, then she'll be walking home. I did point out that she could have walked home before now and she obviously hasn't. My brother is going to the care home for lunch today and got fed crumpets yesterday by little old ladies, so he's doing fine (and he's only 27!). :D

Right, I'd better go and sort myself out. Have a good weekend everyone.
