Alton Towers - Ask Me!

wow, what a wonderful day to say it was friday the 13th. all went r4easonbly well i have to say.
99% of the staff were extremely nice, smiley and helpful as they should be in a theme park i guess. mostly more than eager to help you have fun.
also my parents came one of whom is disabled, 1 disabled band and the 3 of us left all got a blue band meaning we could all ride together and not just the carer. although my dad who had the disabled band didt ride on all the rides even though he tried but lost his bottle a bit at the entrance(or exit really) they let the blue band wearers still ride without the disabled person which i thought was nice really as in my eyes not all the fun is on the ride but also for my dad seeing us on the rides gave him a great day out.
great work people, and made our day a real nice one to remember for the family.
my only tiny gripe in a sense is the slight lack of sense of humour and maybe even a bit of 'more than the jobs worth' was the fact my daughter went to take a photo of the photo screen from one of the rides we went on and the photo seller covered his hand over the board had a little rant at my 9 year old,
so i went over and asked what the problem was?
he said your not allowed to do that!
so i asked why, what was the problem with that, i know its sales to them but they are not on a commision based wage are they? maybe a little cheeky to take a photo but i thought his attitude stank a little in the way he spoke to a 9 year old girl and then acted immature enough to start waving his hands over the screen!!
having been to florida and experienced the disney parks, i see how much alton towers is trying to emulate that in every possible sense, but even the yank park workers were happy to lift my child up to screen so she take her own photo of there photo's.
in my eyes i was never going to buy a photo at the prices being sold at anyway so it was no loss of sale either.
haha, moneysaving gone to far?
great day anyway guys.
also great deal for £2.99 for a 6" pizza and drink at pizza hut ear oblivion. good price for a theme park seeing that hotdogs are mere £3.90 but you get onions with that and free sauce, in fact as much free sauce as you like

can I ask afew questions?
Is it £8 each for adults and children?
Is this a temporary special offer or a permanent offer?
Does this still apply if the first day's ticket was a special offer/deal of some kind?
Can you only do this for a second day? what about a third, or even fourth!?
Thanks
I too am interested in learning more about this

My daughter has just turned 4 years old, will I have topay for her to enter ?
Thanks0 -
Ive just used the walkers britt trips and i have to say its saved me a fortune, 2 adults, 3 children.
We are planning to go back, but reading this is it right that if you or someone you care for are in receipt of DLA can basiclly go to the front of the queue? My son is getting dla for personal care so can he do it? And is as he is only 6 would i have to go with him due to height restrictions (under 1.14m must be with an adult)
thanks0 -
Hello,
I am planning on going to Alton towers in August. 2 Adults 2 Children. I have no vouchers, no tickets, no passes etc but want to know the cheapest way to get in and stay at a nearby hotel for 2 nights. would it be a good idea to buy 2 for one tickets etc from ebay or are they a rip off? Is it better to book the hotel seperately fro the Alton Towers deal. I know I am a pain in the rear but we are also looking at thorpe Park for the same. Any advise greatfully received.1

Buy £30 or more fuel at Total garage and they give you book of vouchers for 2 for 1 at Alton towers, legoland, chessington etc....
Or cheaper still buy couple of packets of tetley tea bags with the 2 for 1 voucher.
Its dead easy this year to get discounts!!!

Is it true that if you buy a drink for £4.99 you can get as maney refills as you want for free?
Also do they do anything like that on the food?
Last of all, how much is it to park your car?0 -

yes thats correct about the drinks. Not sure about the food though as i took my own pack up which alot of ppl do.
As for parking its £4 for the day in the normal carparks or £10 for the car park thats smack bang next to the park. If you choose to park in the normal car park, you can get the park train thats free and takes you directly into the park. Depending on cues the ride itself is pretty quick.0 -

i saved my britt trips, they give you half price tickets for 1 days entrance. For 3 adults (had to pay adult for my 14 yr old) and 2 paying children it cost me about £71.
You only need 20 points per ticket. which is easy to get if you buy the bumper packs of walkers0 -
Capri sun have 241 on promo packs for alton towers, the dungeons, chessington world of adv, sea life centre, warwick castle and lego land windsor..
i got a box of 10 and it had 3 vouchers on it.
Brill to take on days out, freeze and by lunch time chilled to drink, and keeps sandwiches and salads cold at the same time. No need for ice packs or boxes!!!A smile and manners doesnt cost any thing0
