Hi
I'm sure, in fact i'm positive, your OH can claim Job Seekers Allowance.
Go back to the Job Centre tomorrow, or phone up and demand to speak to someone (i realise you have a lot on your plate). Make them go through your circumstances again.
Good luck.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

I hope this gives you a better understanding of our financial situation, I know the unsecured debt is alot, only 7 of them are actually mine! so please don't be too hard on me x0 -
Your assets are wrong the way i see it as it is the equity that is an asset value not the full amount, and what should NaN read?
Are you going to post this on a thread on the BR board too just in case otheres mis it here?Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….0 -
Electricity and Gas are high. Have you tried changing supplier? or is this inclusive of mobey owed/backdated? Try http://www.moneysupermarket.com/utilities/cheaper-gas-electricity.aspx
Thats alot spent on food. Have a look at the old style board for meal planning whaich may help you cut this back a bit. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

I don't understand the NAN bit either?
We had the house valued at £199,950 last month by "Your Move" but to be honest, I don't really believe it because it needs alot of maintenance work doing0 -
Wot a life - if you are lurking, please put up even an empty post to reassure the rest of us you're as ok as you can be under the circumstances. It may seem that everyone is pushing you, that you've had enough pushing and now the mortgage company is pushing you under for the last time - but odd though it may seem, and it does feel odd for perfect strangers to be concerned for you when you're in these dire straits [personal experience speaking here], we, a group of strangers care about your welfare. You're safe here and no-one is going to do anything other than pass the virtual hankies, make another virtual cup of tea and pass it to you while we all work together to sort out this mad world, one virtual cup of tea at a time.
No matter what, best of luck - and there is light at the end of the tunnel, trust me, I've seen enough oncoming trains to know whereof I speak.
hugs
DGIf you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!0 -
The NaN is a bit academic but how much equity you have is an important factor as to what to do now.
If you where to sell and got that valuation how much would be left after costsIe early settlemant charges, paying off the mortgage etc etc, If you where to go down the BR route thats what the OR would want to knowThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….0 -
I think it may be that the mortgage is only £169 that is throwing the figures out.
The NaN is probably the barclaycard figure - just needs a few blanks filled in.After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Richard_S has responded to the thread on the BR board, and i have to say i agree you need to concentrate posting there even taking into consideration that the mortgage may be £733 a month some drastic action is needed, but then you knew that Whith all the will in the world without increaseing your income drasticaly, reduceing your outgoing, although this may help, will not be enough.
Have you posted what equity you have in any other thread? You dont have to be in negative to keep your house through BR but the closer you are the easier it makes it, and Richard-s has posted a good way to help get this as low as possible but we do need to know where we are starting.
Having said that i cannot see why your OH shouldnt get some form of benefit, can he not claim IB? is he unwell enough to not be able to work at the moment in his docters view?
Im not an expert on benefits (cant even spell it half the time lol) but i cant see why you have been left high and dry almost so i have to at least ask if you know why?Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….0 -
Thank-you all for your input x
I'm OK DdraigGoch, I'm keeping myself busy with work, just waiting for the dreaded letter from the mortgage company to arrive.
I'll go over to the bankruptcy board and see what Richard has left me.
Thank-you all xx0
