After about 3 years of thinking about applying for a water meter I finally got round to contacting my water supplier last week. They sent somebody round to look at my supply but ended up telling me that they couldn't fit one because we're on a shared supply and there isn't enough room to fit one on the internal pipes.
I was a bit disappointed but then earlier this week I got a letter from them advising me that they were moving me to their assessed rates and our bill would drop by £250 a year - couldn't believe it! All because I'd requested a meter. I'm just gutted that I hadn't pulled my finger out and done this three years ago!0 -
Hey guys,
This morning I went through my bank statements and evaluated my subscriptions. It's been difficult but I've cancelled:
Auidble.co.uk - £7.99pm
Kindle unlimited - £7.99pm
Spotify Premium - £9.99pm
And changed my GiffGaff phone plan from £12pm to £5pm.
An annual saving of £395.64! :T
That's a successful morningWoop woop!
97 months until I qualify!

Spent an hour haggling with Virgin and got a TiVo box, Netflix, 100mb broadband, unlimited talk, more TV channels and 3 months Sky Sport/movies for £11 a month LESS than I was paying. Rang up and said I'd had a great offer from BT so I was regretfully leaving. Thanks Martin for the haggling tips!0

Hi, about savings, I think, I have save something but not that much over the past year. I was able to invest for a small lot only. Actually, that is my other way of saving. I just hope, I would be able to start saving money again by this year:)0

I have just switched to npower on-line fixed April 2016 duel fuel. The MSE cheap energy club says I could save £270 a year by switching to someone else.
I believe that the MSE CEC is using the wrong data on the npower tariff and producing false comparisons. My calculations show I am paying £270 a year less to npower than MSE says I am.
Can we believe all the comparisons on MSE0 -
Where to start, MSE is brilliant, over the last three years we have switched providers and saved hundreds. Have done surveys for extra cash, use Topcashback regularly and most importantly paid of our Mortgage years early and saved thousands in interest.
Been able to retire early with all the savings mounting up in our bank account including competition wins amounting to around £15,000 not all cash but used prizes for birthdays and gifts as well as having a few great breaks away. :T:T:T many thank's Martin0
