Doesn't post #879 (two before yours) answer this question?

Is one set for the nominated account (for receiving funds in 12 months time)?

Could you provide a link to this account? I can't seem to find it on their website, and it isn't in the list of accounts that qualify:

When I went in to open the RS the woman that went through the application said I could get 12% if I deposited £5000 in one of their other accounts. As soon as she mentioned the 6.35% of the Online Saver (or whatever it was called) I thought that sounded pretty good so I went ahead and opened it. It was definitely qualified for the 12% because it was one of the ones she suggested. The draw back was that you could only make 2 withdrawls in the year, and then you'd loose your interest, or drop down a band. I honestly didn't pay any attention to the details because for me it's just somewhere to stash away some money and I know I won't need to touch it for 12 months anyway. I should receive the confirmation in the post next week with my login so I can confirm the details then.
There is encouraging news, though - it looks like you still have time to transfer funds from ICICI:
Now that's interesting! She was adamant that the funds had to be there by Sunday. I wonder why she said that?? Now I've potentially lost out because I won't have time to get back to the branch. Going to go and read up on that now. Thanks very much for the tip!

That's the WebSaver Extra, and she's (intentionally, or unintentionally) hoodwinked you!

This account pays 6.35% gross/6.05% AER until Friday this week (that's the day after tomorrow!) when it falls to 6.00% gross/AER.

Hmmm.. that's a bit ambiguous. I guess it's not 6.35% for all accounts opened before 18th July is it? Probably not. She didn't mention that at all. How underhand, and basically inexcusable. Coupled with the fact she didn't know about the 14day period for depositing the £5,000. I'll have to go back there tomorrow now!!

efunc: The websaver is a variable interest account, and it includes a 0.35% bonus (expiring 18th July).

    Hi,

Just a few quick questions. I opened my RS account over the phone on Tuesday and got the account details. I set up my first payment for Friday to be paid by Fast Payment so should reach Halifax the same day. I would like to be able to view the account on my Halifax online banking but it hasn't appeared yet. I tried to add the details of the account online but it says the details does not exist! So I'm a little concerned that my money is going to disappear into an non-existant account on Friday ... ?

How long does an account normally take to be added and to become viewable on Halifax online banking? Does the account have to be activated at a branch first before it can be viewed online and before payments can be paid into it?

Thanks, I hope I'm just worrying for nothing and things will be fine.

I opened mine online and the details were available to view immediately. Don't know whether this was because I did it online rather than by phone though. Might be that you've been given a new Customer ID, which can sometimes happen. I'd give them a ring if you can't view it along with your existing account/s.

I opened mine online yesterday and the details were there immediately but when I tried to transfer some money, today,to set it up ,it won`t allow me to do this.
Looks like I`ll have to make a trip to a branch to pay some money in and make out a SO.
    Hardly online banking.
