Ebay Scandal

If you use ebay while another account is suspended then you tempoary ban will be made permanent on all your accounts and any associated with them. It is really much better to sit out the short ban and start up again properly after that rather than risk everything.
30 day bans always seem to end up being forever bans anyway."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Glad I have come across this thread - I didn't realise there had been changes to ebay. I have been a 'small' seller and buyer over the past 4 years and have 100% feedback. I will now think twice before selling now.
Not sure why things on ebay needed to be changed - I am sure it worked quite well as it was.
I feel that these changes are just a symptom of modern day society. Everything seems to get changed these days whether it is an improvement or not (education, politics, healthcare etc etc ....... must stop writing this reply as in danger of becoming moaning old bag!).0 -

I don't think eBay are on the ball though to be honest.. They are too busy implementing new rules!
When I went bankrupt I owed eBay £3500 in fees! Seriously.. I had a massive shop.. and that was just 6 weeks of fees that built up when I was struggling most.
They chased me for the money, it's included in my bankruptcy and that was back in Nov/Dec '07. I have had two further accounts since then, same name, same address.. everything the same. So, if they wanted they could find them easily, but they don't?
I'm not threatened about my account being closed if I open another, it doesn't bother me at all..
Like I say, there is always a way around it..
OH has an account, same address, but they can't close his account because i've broken the rules. So, I can always just use his account..
I think eBay are far too busy coming up with new ideas to bother chasing up people with duplicate account when suspended, and all those foreign scamming schemes that go on :rolleyes:BSC Member 155

Oh, and my 30 days ban on my old account would only be lifted if my feedback score significantly improved!
1) I can't buy and sell, so no new feedback coming in the improve my % score!
2) I doubt people who have left negatives will remove it, it just won't happen unless you bribe them with £10 or something..
So, unless I can get the negatives removed on my old account then there is no way I will have the ban lifted after 30 days.. No way at all..!
They just want rid of people..BSC Member 155

There has been a change at the top and for some reason new managers (this goes for most big organisations) like to impose change. They see no change as stagnation so want to make a name for themselves by shaking things up.
Buyers can often be sellers. If sellers become despondant (or worse suspended) and give up on eBay then many might not buy on there either in the future. The less sellers on there the less choice will be available and the cycle will continue.
Ive been monitoring a couple of Chinese sellers for a couple of months. Charging £30 postage for a fake Nokia phone suposedly being sent from London (though all their feedback says everything comes from China) and receiving about 5 negs per day and yet they have not been suspended. Perhaps in the not too distant future eBay UK will simply be full of the Chinese sellers eBay seem to love so much.0 -

Perhaps they dont want bankrupt sellers
seems fair enough to me0 -
OK I'll take the flack and say it.
These new changes were designed to protect buyers against those rogue sellers who consistently breach rules and under perform. I think it odd that some of those same sellers who admit to breaking rules are now trying to persuade other users that it is perfectly OK to do so, doesn't thatrather prove that ebay are right to cut out some of those sellers?
Most of the regulars here do not break rules and yet the new rules might be a danger to us as well. Because of that I can't see there being much sympathy for those sellers who are happy to break rules, and therefore caused these changes in the first place.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I am using Google Adwords and Google Products and they both bring me much more profit than eBay. Plus Google Checkout will not charge you for the transactions if you spend certain amount of money for adverts with them.
I will shorly move from eBay shortly. They are time waisters.0
