So excited - just got the confirmation of our booking for the 22nd Aug 09 back.
We've paid the basic room hire (ceremony and reception) of £900, still have the £300 balance to pay which lets us stay on till 11pm. We get a pagoda in a rose garden for the ceremony :D
Already got my shoes, rings, lingerie, veil, tiara, album and guest book (I like shopping and weddings - I'm having a good time here!).
Now I have to buy the fabric for my dress and the 2 maids dresses which I'm making myself, along with the invitations etc.
Going for an overall budget of around £6000 (including huge contingencies, so I hope it's nearer £5000!).
Flowers and music are the problems I'm facing at the moment. How do you make savings and still get class?!

Well, less than a year now and I'll be married! Went and tried on some more dresses today, I'm pretty convinced I've chosen the one I want, but they recommened I wait until July, as they're getting some new designs in then and they wouldn't want me to change my mind lol.

Chose my bridesmaids dresses too, getting so excited because things seem to be coming together :D

lol, I know, when people ask when I'm getting married and I say 2010, they say 'wow, why that far away?'

I was originally getting married in 2010, we'd decided to wait til then so I could pass my exams, and then we could get a house, and once that was sorted, we'd get married. However, we got the house, and decided we no longer wanted to wait 2 years so brought it forward to 2009. Very glad we did!
  • Wow everyones so organised!!!

We have just paid the deposit for the reception venue (300, a grand wedding for a grand!)
Have provisionally booked the church, just trying to get hold of the vicar to pay the deposit!
Looking at cakes now, has anyone got any moneysaving ideas for those? M&S seem reasonable but would appreciate any other ideas!
Have 'made' some save the date fridge magnets on vista print, 7.99 for 25 so doesn't seem bad.
    Hows everyone else getting on?

Please add me! I am getting married 4th July 2009 :) (Independence Day, well, not for my hubby-to-be, haha!) We have been dating 6 years so it's been a long time coming!
