Snap kimberley111, another 23rd May bride here! Things we've done:

    - Booked venues
    - Booked celebrant
    - Organising quotes for catering, need to chase them up actually
    - Booked photographer
    - Got quote from florist which will probably go with
    - Fell in love with a dress in Coast but went off it when I tried it on and it wasn't very flattering
    - Had masses of discussions on what the invites should look like, still got many months to change our minds
    - Started making honeymoon plans, touring round Scandinavia by rail
    - Bought a white sheet in the Ikea bargain area to make bunting
    - Started knitting a wrap for me, pretty complex lace so taking my time!

Great to read about other peoples plans.

    congratulations!!!!!
have now got caterers and my sisters bridesmaid dress and have decided to have ivory and teal colours

That's about as far as I got, my teenage daughter is in a teal dress although I decided to change the bows on the little one's ivory dresses for teal, such a pretty colour!

  • Please add me to the list too! Am getting married on 17th May 2009.. Half booked the venue-we can have it at the local Arts Club for £80 for the venue and an additional £25 for the doorman(!). Lovely and cheap but we have to use their alcohol - I was hoping to buy a bottle of fizzy a week from Lidls and stash it away :( Ah well - hoping I can sort out a deal on that. We're having a pay bar and doing our own buffet. Am really hoping that the weather is good as there s a lovely garden area we can use and the main bar isn't too big- in fact we're going to have to put the buffet in the hallway! Am slightly concerned about not having enough space for everything if it is raining, but it is a really pretty (and really cheap!) building, plus they will do us a deal on accommodation too.. I have a week to decide! Trying on dresses on Sunday! Hoping to find a style I really like and then buy a cheaper version on ebay. Same for bridesmaids dresses. Church is booked- for some reason methodist churches round here are substantially cheaper than C of E....

We're going to a cake specialist on Monday to look at a cake for my sister's 21st and we mentioned i was getting married next year, so she is going to show us some pictures of cakes and give us a starting price etc! :o I'm really excited! If her designs and prices are good, we'll have found our cake maker! :D

Venue booked and deposit now paid, registrar provisionally booked (received the forms today), wedding path website set up, theme/colour scheme decided on, bridesmaids and best men picked, started looking for cakes too.

Went to a couple of places to look at wedding dresses yesterday, but was so disappointed. Didn't see anything I liked, but it was only my first try!
