Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 28th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning.
Off to work early today. It has been really busy and I really don't have the time to do everything in one day. Late home again yesterday too.
I am trying to get quotes for the insurance deal on my wall as well as a million other things, so it's just not going that smoothly.
Chicks are fine... getting some more eggs this weekend. Try again now that I have some idea and some more tips too.
Cheers

Morning everyone,
It's been pouring rain since lunch time. MeanieMarie must have brought the rain with her.Our new mattress turned up today. I"ll have to help DH lug it up the stairs when he gets home. Our old mattress was nearly 20 years old and not very comfortable.
Done a few things this morning but been very lazy this arv. I blame the weather.
DSis still doesn't know her date for her op yet. Ninny day tomorrow. Forecast for more rain so we'll have to do some indoor things.
Hope you all have a lovely day & <hugs> to those that need them. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Morning all,
I went for my pre op assesment yesterday and the Consultant want's to get me in asap so I am having the op TOMORROW at 1pm :eek:Mixed feelings, I am so pleased about the op but there is still so much to be done at the house before we can get tennents in, and I have only today to get finished. We have to be at the house tomorrow at 8am to let the carpet fitters in, and move the furniture. I have still to Satinwood doors, frames windows and skirting boards so will have to work till late.
I am seeing Dr. today at 8.40 about my left hand, 2 knuckles look like golf balls, so with the op on the right arm and probs with the left hand I'm no good to man nor beast.
I'm really going to miss knitting.
Caught up with yesterday's thread. Thanks MIOLLERE I wil try the vinigar, bicarb. I have placed cut onions around as they absorb smells too.
DUTCHY, know how you feel, it's a lot of work.

Betheebee, don't worry, you have wanted this op for so long, just jump at the chance of getting it over with so you will be OK for Summer (if it ever comes)
Half price listing day today on Ebay, so want to get some things listed. Mind you, I am finding Ebay really quiet at the moment, so don't know whether it is the weather or the daft new rules affecting it. Also want to go to Home Bargains as I have started my Christmas cupboard
Chicken curry for dinner.
Have a good day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

Beautiful sunny day, here, but it's not forecast to last, so I'm out in the garden first thing  I also want to get my laundry dry. No choir tonight, so a group of us is going for a bar meal.
DD is doing an art project which seems to mainly involve coating the kitchen in clay  I'm sure it'll be beautiful when it's done

Long day to I can see it coming, OH has a conference call later, so won't be home until 10pm (it's with American researchers, hence the daft time for him) , I've been in since 6.30am, I've a meeting at 8am and exam to watch over at 9am and a bucketload of writing to do. I fell asleep in the libaray yesterday after getting distracted... I went from my immunology text to a medical one, to a social science one then ended up spending 2 hours randomly reading back issues of the journal of brain injury. Then I fell asleep. I have the concentration span of a lobotomised goldfishOH's ex contacted him again last night which I needed like a hole in the head too... *sigh* Oh for some peace!
OH cooked last night - an egg free sponge for his work (colleagues bday) and it seemed to go okay. I made egg free cookies as well in case it didn't, but I don't think he'll need the back-up plan :rotfl:
Dinner will probably be red wine and chocolate - which compliments well with the Kinder suprise I've just had for breakfast. I got a plastic flying thing though, so I'm happy
Have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

Well I didn't get as much done yesterday as I wanted I took my friend to A&E and we were there four and a half hours mostly because we had to wait for one of the orthopedic team to finish operating to look at her hand she was sorted out and has been told she needs an operation on it to stop it happening again
Today I have to go and buy dog food ,do a little bit of washing and re-stuff dd's bean bag chair and hopefully finish the baking
