Barclays Launching 7.75% One Year Fixed Rate Monthly Saver On 2nd June

"Customers can pay in between £20 and £250 per month, up to a maximum of £3000 over the 12 month term. After a year the balance will automatically switch to a savings account with instant access paying a competitive rate of interest.

Monthly Savings customers are not required to open or maintain any additional products with Barclays, and they have flexibility to miss or change a payment. Customers have the flexibility to withdraw money, with interest rates reducing to 3.03% AER/2.99% gross p.a. in any month in which a withdrawal is made. "

    After all their 7% rate has been unchanged for 4 years. But they must be seeing a big exodus as their Websaver, as a feeder account, is now a paltry rate.
    If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !

    If that's the case - should I be close my existing RS (7%) now - which rolled over on 7 May? (I can postpone my 'June' payment anyway) in order to qualify immediately?

    Most likely they'll make you take out one of their crummy investment products at the same time.
