    Well, I have just totted up my totals for the month because I won't be doing any more shopping before Monday. Oh dear, slightly over...but given the ever-increasing price rises I don't feel so bad about it. I have been making the effort, it's just getting harder all the time, isn't it? e.g the other day I found a wrinkly organic pepper in the bottom of the salad drawer. Instead of chucking it, I whippped out a saute pan and made some pepper sauce for pasta. That is now in the freezer and will feed the kids one night next week.

    Nykmedia - re. the coop - we have the same issue here as well. The local (small) supermarket is Norwich & Ipswich, but the Westgate department store in Diss is something else (Peterborough?) so I can't use my divi cheques in the Westgate, or my card. V. annoying, so you have my sympathy.

    Everyone else - good luck with the end of this month, see you on the July thread (how can it possibly be July?!)

    Went to Mr T's again today :o to buy a muffin tin as I made some strawberry muffins this morning just using the paper cases and you all can guess what happened and what they ended up looking like. Though they tasted great! :D
    Anyway, didn't like the prices of the tins so I didn't get one but brought some reduced bits instead. :rolleyes:

    Thanks for the info Mama67, I was completely unaware that there were different Co-operatives and had just (wrongly) assumed that Co-op Group covered them all. I think I'll just stick to my local one from now on, as there doesn't seem to be any way of telling which is which. Apart from that, Mr T is so much cheaper and well worth the 80 mile round trip occasionally :) Mind you, my £40/month budget will all need to be local Co-op from now on, as it costs about £10 in petrol to go anywhere else unless I get a free lift. :)
    I reserve the right not to spend.
    The less I spend, the more I can afford.

    Well we spent £192.15, so came under budget yeahhhh :j
    We had budgeted for £200!

    Will aim for 140 next month (July )as we are on hols for 1 week..

    OMG I just did a stock take of my cupboards!! :eek: I have got: 9KG pasta, 7KG rice, 15KG flour, 1KG lentils & 1KG cous cous (plus the pasta, rice, etc that's in the kilner jars on the worktop - prob over 4KG) (total 37KG+ ) and 41 tins in my cupboard!!!     No you are not alone Nikki,just what my cupboards look like,only I have a

    stockpile of sugar as well(for jam making)!!

    Tried to empty them a bit today as I made mayonnaise for coleslaw,2 large

    loaves of bread,1 bara brith & 4 doz Welsh cakes(for a friend who has got

    sheepshearing at w/e)

    But the freezer had a bit more thrown in it as I was given 5lbs of

    gooseberries,a friend was clearing out last years fruit (!),ready for this years:rotfl:
    Will declare total next week when July starts,at present £133,so am under

    target but didn't include holiday spend.:D

    Angelnikki would you put my July GC as £200,please.

    Hubby got paid today. My £200 budget starts today for the next month (26th June-24th July) we go away then and return Aug so Aug budget will be a little shorter. Will update sig as I spend, am determined to get it right this month.
