Although these are dogs at Dh work they are rescue dogs, look the part even though not bred for guarding; and we used to feed the same food to our own dogs which were lab/collie crosses.

Well, I have just totted up my totals for the month because I won't be doing any more shopping before Monday. Oh dear, slightly over...but given the ever-increasing price rises I don't feel so bad about it. I have been making the effort, it's just getting harder all the time, isn't it? e.g the other day I found a wrinkly organic pepper in the bottom of the salad drawer. Instead of chucking it, I whippped out a saute pan and made some pepper sauce for pasta. That is now in the freezer and will feed the kids one night next week.

Nykmedia - re. the coop - we have the same issue here as well. The local (small) supermarket is Norwich & Ipswich, but the Westgate department store in Diss is something else (Peterborough?) so I can't use my divi cheques in the Westgate, or my card. V. annoying, so you have my sympathy.

Everyone else - good luck with the end of this month, see you on the July thread (how can it possibly be July?!)

Went to Mr T's again today :o to buy a muffin tin as I made some strawberry muffins this morning just using the paper cases and you all can guess what happened and what they ended up looking like. Though they tasted great! :D
Anyway, didn't like the prices of the tins so I didn't get one but brought some reduced bits instead.

Thanks for the info Mama67, I was completely unaware that there were different Co-operatives and had just (wrongly) assumed that Co-op Group covered them all. I think I'll just stick to my local one from now on, as there doesn't seem to be any way of telling which is which. Apart from that, Mr T is so much cheaper and well worth the 80 mile round trip occasionally :) Mind you, my £40/month budget will all need to be local Co-op from now on, as it costs about £10 in petrol to go anywhere else unless I get a free lift. :)
I reserve the right not to spend.

OMG I just did a stock take of my cupboards!! I have got: 9KG pasta, 7KG rice, 15KG flour, 1KG lentils & 1KG cous cous (plus the pasta, rice, etc that's in the kilner jars on the worktop - prob over 4KG) (total 37KG+ ) and 41 tins in my cupboard!!! I know its good to have a well stocked cupboard but maybe I've taken it a bit far? :rotfl: Am I alone in doing this? :o

I'm definitely not gonna buy any more pasta rice or flour until I've used it all up! Or try not to

    Nikki

No you are not alone Nikki, just what my cupboards look like, only I have a

stockpile of sugar as well(for jam making)!!

Tried to empty them a bit today as I made mayonnaise for coleslaw,2 large

loaves of bread,1 bara brith & 4 doz Welsh cakes(for a friend who has got

    sheepshearing at w/e)

But the freezer had a bit more thrown in it as I was given 5lbs of

gooseberries,a friend was clearing out last years fruit (!),ready for this years:rotfl:
Will declare total next week when July starts,at present £133,so am under

target but didn't include holiday spend.:D

Angelnikki would you put my July GC as £200,please.

Thank you for taking over from MrsMC

    Night all
