Not been on here for some time as Im busy with allotment and bowls but have decided not to post budget as I have managed to cut £50 from my monthly shopping each month, its just become a way of life for me now thanks to you guys. I am still doing the sealed tin challenge and have one full tin and second one is three quarters full. Saving money on veggies at present as harvesting lots of cabbages, caulies and salad leaves from allotment. I have good habits now and plan meals and cook from scratch. These boards have been a godsend. I opened different accounts for Christmas and holidays so that is working out ok. :T0

Thinking of you Mrs M.
Well almost an NSD yesterday - ended buying the 10 for £2 mullers at Asda plus spuds so not too bad. The bigest help to my budget is DD2 had found a job (thanks to DD1 who saw the advert).:jShe is hoping to be working just about full time over the summer then part time when she is back at uni in the autumn.
Also OH has an interview today - not for a permanent job but a long term contract of over a year - Watch out S!!!!horpe he'll be there after lunch. He was trying to be calm last night but when I got up this morning he had left the house unlocked both front and back so he's bottling it up methinks:D
Anyway should be an NSD today as I don't need anything, wedding aniversary tomorrow - 28 years:eek: . DD1 has given me a 20% of coupon for M&S, valid all weekend for multiple uses:A (BF works there) so I think a blow out may be in order - I may have a new job myself by this time next week (interview Wed) so while I don't want to count chickens I might just get some new clothes anyway.
Anyway 'nuf of the ramble, I have until Monday on the GC so I will declare then.
Have a good day everyone.0 -

made weetabix cake again yesterday and came into work to find a "pimped" jaffa cake on my desk (pimpthatsnack website) one of the girls i work with decided that it would be fun to do, the curly wurly she made yesterday was fab as well.
don't need to get anything today and think i cna hold out til sunday before i go shopping, even then it's not going to be needs, and by that point i'll be onto julys budget!Nonny mouse and Proud!!

I'm pleased to say I've been so inspired by the meal planning ect,and the ideas from you ladies(the recipes are always great) that I've managed to spend only £93 this month so far including toiletries and cleaning stuff. There are only the two of us but from this I've even bought a few extra bits for my storecupboard.I'm actually starting to enjoy being a skinflint.
I'm off to Manchester tomorrow,to spend the week with my daughter so I won't be going shopping again till I come back.I'll start a new count then.0 -
Hello all, not sure if its been mentioned, but i just heard on the news that Asda is going to be dropping a lot of basics to 50p to try and win back some of the customer who have gone to budget store like liddel and audi......good news hey :j .

Morning All!!
Have updated siggie and am slightly alarmed at small amount remaining but am trying the big shop and only veggie box/ cat food extras this month to see if that works for us-- we have a meal plan drawn up so I am quietly confident *wipes sweat from brow*
Jakk-- Asda is only doing the 50p thing for this weekend- and Tescos are dropping some prices also but again for a limited time- thats what it says inthe paper anyway. (or the online paper so I don't have to buy one!)
Thank goodness its Friday!!! DeniseF-- have a fantastic last day- not looking forward to it much then??!! :rotfl:
For anyone who has access to QVC today they are doing an offer on food saver bags that lengthen the keep time for food-- £15 for 45 bags- each bag can be used 8- 10 times-- apparently it will keep things fresh for about twice as long inc fruit, veg, cheese and meats etc- I have ordered some to try out as our freezer is not huge and it will allow me to utilise the fridge more.
Will try and do thread catch up...!June Budget= £151.41/£150:cool:10 NSDs (with teenagers !!)= 8Reduced my overdraft a little today- slow but sure!:A0 -
Declaring £176.88 for June. Really pleased as this works out at £44 a week down from £60 and this is my first month. :j
Put me down for a £200 budget for July (£40 pw). This includes all food, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. I'm making it harder though by including the baby milk in this as well which for the first 2 weeks of June i counted separately. This isn't a huge amount as still breast feeding morning feed.
I'm feeding 2 adults, 3 year old boy with hollow legs, 8month old and 2 cats. Should be fun but with inspriation from weezl74 50p a day challenge  i'm sure i can do this easily.0 -
I heard this as well this morning apparently Tesco's are going to drop loads of prices too.It just goes to show that they're using the credit crunch as an excuse to push prices higher if they can drop them like this so easily.
"An all out price war" as the news put it,well it serves them both right.Did they realy expect customers to stay and pay the prices they were asking.0
