Good evening all, I'm just on to find out if anyone knew about their being DIFFERENT CO-OP COMPANIES!!!! I am livid! I had to go and buy the food for doing a buffet at the weekend (100+) and en route to Mr T, we found a brand new Co-op superstore! Relishing the thought of all these Co-op points on my membership card, in I went, prepared to spend a fortune if their prices were right. However, most were exact same as my local Co-op. Even the layout was similar, despite it being many times the size of my little local store, so all I picked yo were some BOGOFs, £5 of chicken drumsticks so I could use my £1 off voucher and a box of wine. At checkout, I handed over my card and voucher and SHE HANDED THEM BACK, saying, "WE DON'T ACCEPT CO-OP CARDS OR VOUCHERS."  I was absolutely LIVID! Imagine if I had spent the entire party budget in there?! So, next time you nip to the Co-op, ASK before shopping if it really is THE Co-op! I've only just learned that there are also independently run stores! ALL the food is the exact same, the stores says Co-op and the till receipt says WELCOME TO YOUR CO-OP. The only difference I could see was the line at the bottom of the receipt, where it says Thank you for shopping at Lothian Borders and Angus Co-op Soc. Ltd. This made me even angrier as I WAS NOT within the Lothians region, nor was I within the Borders region or Angus!!!
Sorry to rant, but I like earning my Co-op dividend points and I like my cashback. I was sorely tempted to walk out of that store and leave the shopping behind, but I bit my tongue and just won't ever go back. Am I alone in feeling cheated? Isn't this like some form of contravention of the trades descriptions act? I searched their notice board and car park for anything that said it wasn't the Co-op but everything said that it was and no mention of Lothian, Borders & Angus.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Just been shopping and am waiting for my tea to cool down so I can eat it.
I made the curry that someone showed earlier. Very nice but the rice didn't cook well, next time I'll only use 200g rice.
I spent £32.19 but only paid £22.09. So I'm quite happy with that. Total is looking a bit scary already as I've got ages left to go until the 22nd! Mind you I counted the DVD's, tobacco and box of wine that were bought yesterday cause I want to reduce all overspends.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
