I've been had then - guess what the delivery boy or is it a girl? will be having for tea for the next xx months lol. I often wonder when at whoopsies counter whether our paths have crossed fighting over the reduced meat!! there must be more of us in this neck of the woods!!:rotfl: I can't believe that everyone in the counrty isn't doing the GC it has been a lifesaver feeding 5 mouths and managing to save a bit each week as well - yippee may get that foreign holiday (in about 2024;) ) just in time for retirement
I can't believe people throw away so much. It's just plain laziness and lack of planning. Although I still struggle with planning.
I made my first batch of rolls today DS was getting fed up with sliced bread. I made 12 and they were all gone by this evening DS had 2 for tea!! with sausages free range ones from butchers, Lovely So I will have to make another batch to freeze as they take longer to make compared to the loaf - that I just throw into BM and hey presto one cooked loaf. But you need to be around for rolls:rolleyes:
Not going to make budget this month DD birthday is Monday and going to have friend round on Sunday for tea after cinema - need some potatoes and few bits tomorrow so may struggle to keep inside budget but I am over the moon as have been stocking up so July should be a doddle:D supposedly:rotfl:Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

Tonight we took half an hour to switch our energy supplier by checking with USwitch and the other comparison sites. Apparently we will save nearly £100 a year and get a crate of wine!:j
How did you get the crate of wine when you switched?

I wouldnt freeze it as its so easy to make: just pour on boiling water/stock and a splash of olive oil and dried herbs if wanted, stir with a spoon, cover with clingfilm and leave for 5 mins, then stir again. I use 100ml water/stock to 50g cous cous which makes 1 adult portion - you can get marigold reduced salt veg stock powder which is really good but plain might be better for a 1yr old.
I always use the reduced sugar/salt beans as under 2s shouldnt have more than 2g salt per day. When you get a MrT near you their reduced salt beans contain less salt than the heinz reduced salt ones

I might make him some HM baked beans, that way I can just put tom puree and beans in
Looking forward to all these exciting things I will hopefully be able to get from Tescos when it arrives!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Looking like I may come under budget this month (just!) :-) though my friends say I must be lying- no way I can spend so little on grocerys! keep telling them to check out this site but they don't listen. Determined that even with all the price rises I will keep my budget down. Though I am worrying that our meals are less healthy now then they used to be? does anyone else find this?(Family of 5: 2 adults & 3 children aged 7yrs, 4yrs, and 18months)0

Hi GC'ers, I'm running on target following my stockpiling last month. I have just under £14 left to last me 10 days and still haven't got a hope of being able to defrost the freezer, as it's still full of veggies, fish, chicken stock and pizza bases. That reminds me - best go get the steak pie out to defrost!I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Well if you see anyone at the whoopsy counter with a basket containing a 4pack of Heinz baked beans, 1litre chilled orange juice and lotus thirst pockets then it could be me lol :rotfl: Maybe we should all wear a HM badge with GC written on it? made out of a safety pin and a bit ripped off a bread flour packet.or maybe not

Morning all
Well day 11 of my NSDs in a row :T ..still refusing to budge out of the house...if im not out....I cant spend now can I?:p
Just taken a reather big chicken breast out of the freezer-plenty for 2..going to make a marinade later and then stir fry it for dinner with lots of veggies...pak choi and the sugar snaps out of the garden:j will do it with noodles... i love noodles.. but rather than boiling them in loads of water, I drop them into a big pan so they are in one layer, crumble in a stock cube..preferably lamb mmmm and then just enough boiling water to cover....wang the lid on and put over a low heat... you have to keep an eye out and check that they don't boil dry and stir them...then when they are nearly cooked, take the lid off and cook the liquid off..lovely sticky, full of flavour noodles..bit like HM supa noodles...
So thats dinner for us tonight
I have allready had brekkie.. 2 slices of that fruit n coconut bread i made -toasted with just a scraping of jam mmmmmmmm...... not something i normally have at this time of day... but i couldn't resist:p
Have pretty much done working out next months menu/shopping list... shouldn't need much at all :j .... just need to see if i can resist buying loads of whoopsies..just because they are "whoopsies"I generally only get stuff i would buy anyway..but for July im really going to try and resist as i know i have enough meat/fish for the month... then i will do a restock in August...well thats the plan anyway
right back off to my knitting/sewing i thinkhave a great day everyone...

Hi there,
Well I am planning a couple of NSD's- DH away for a trip and its just me and DS with a freezer full, fridge full and cupboard full!!!
Weather looks terrible too so I think we might have a day of DS playing with his new birthday toys and me pottering/cooking/knitting. Pizza for tea tonight, just need to make the base. Can I ask- if I made enough for two could I freeze the dough? Or is it best to cook it first ? I think a ball of dough might fit in the freezer but I doubt a base will!! Making todays pizza big enough that there will be plenty for tea on Monday with some McCain wedges (a rare treat but they were BOGOF in the COOP).Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
