Just updated my sig and have spent just over £300 so far this month speechless-smiley-040.gif. Mind you if it wasn't for this site it would have been nearly double that for the month!!
I've just been through the freezer and listed everything in itbiggrin.gif. Loads of hm ready meals in there and tons of meat for the basis of meals. Note to self - must not buy any more meat, no matter how whoopsied, have no room left in the freezerlaughing-smiley-014.gif. Trouble is I can't resist a barginwink.gif. £45 left for 10 days, probably not realistic but will try, it'll depend on how quick ds1 gets through crisps.

My DS(20months) is the same and especially loves anything with mash:rolleyes: . You could just make a bit extra of whatever you have the night before and serve it for him for lunch. So if you make a bit of extra mash for example, you could just mix it with cheese and chopped cherry tomatoes/some tuna and sweetcorn - DS's favourite :D

There's loads of other stuff you could do aswell. You could try:
-Couscous is quite good to do as it only takes 5 minutes to make and you could just mix it with some frozen mixed veg nuked in the microwave and maybe add some small pieces of ham/chopped cooked chicken.
-Small pasta shapes with a tomato sauce - you could make a batch of this and freeze in small portions
    -macaroni cheese - as above
-Scrambled eggs(well cooked) and/or baked beans & toast fingers
-Eggy bread fingers or small sandwiches are good if he's wanting finger foods, and so are HM breadsticks & small vegetable sticks with HM houmous or with philly type cheese to dunk.
-Cheesy biscuits which I posted on here earlier.
-Spanish omelette/tortilla type things can be cut into wedges for a good finger food aswell

My OH always gives DS beans on toast at the weekend  so I try and give him a bigger variety during the week. Hope these ideas help.

Edit to add: anyone in lowestoft :hello: there is a MrT leaflet in this week's advertiser with a coupon for a 4pack of Heinz baked beans for 46p, 1litre of chilled orange juice for 35p and lotus thirst pockets kitchen roll x2 for 34p ;)

:) Have not tried cous cous so might give that a go tomorrow- can you freeze it once its made up ? Or how long does it keep in the fridge. I also got some pork mince so might make him little pork/veg pittas one day. Also do you just use normal beans, or reduced sugar/salt ones ?
He loves anything he can hold. I think actually my problem, thinking about it, is not lack of ideas, but lack of incorporating his lunches into the meal plan too. Thanks again.

Cous cous will keep in the fridge for about 3 days and can be served cold too. I wouldnt freeze it as its so easy to make: just pour on boiling water/stock and a splash of olive oil and dried herbs if wanted, stir with a spoon, cover with clingfilm and leave for 5 mins, then stir again. I use 100ml water/stock to 50g cous cous which makes 1 adult portion - you can get marigold reduced salt veg stock powder which is really good but plain might be better for a 1yr old.

I always use the reduced sugar/salt beans as under 2s shouldnt have more than 2g salt per day. When you get a MrT near you their reduced salt beans contain less salt than the heinz reduced salt ones ;)

    Hi all
Not been on for a few day but just to update we have £44 to last to the end of the month which should just about last:D . May be our first month in a while on target.:j

Tonight we took half an hour to switch our energy supplier by checking with USwitch and the other comparison sites. Apparently we will save nearly £100 a year and get a crate of wine!:j

It's been a busy, stressful and tiring week so we are going to watch Run Fat Boy Run on DVD now which we have borrowed off somebody at work.

Hope everyone has a good weekend without too much spending.

    Hi all,

Have reassessed costs of all the juice, tuna and dried pasta I bought earlier in the week and have decided to deduct approz 10 euro's worth of food off next months budget,so I have approx 18 euros left for bread,f & v and yoghurts.

Have frozen sandwiches, pastries and plenty of juice, milk, pastas and pates for next month

Bought a slimline jug for fruit juice so I can dilute accurately and see when I need a new carton.Cost 60c approx 45p!:T

Had chicken paella tonight and I had some prawns in garlic butter bunged in with 2 trays of Twinks to which I added cinnamon to - lovely.:rotfl:

My house guest has bought us a watermelon which we will start tomorrow.Yum.

    Planned Food from cupboard /freezer

Jackets tomorrow with tuna/beans or cheese.
    Chicken & Noodles Sunday
    Pasta with Pesto Monday
Chicken & Veg Curry with left over garlic nan Tuesday
Egg & Beans on Toast Wednesday
    Night Out - DADDYS HOME
Chicken with Yorkshire Pudding & Veggies Friday

Really hoping that I can just buy bread and dairy for the next week.

Had water bill 66 euros for 3 months = £17.30 is good going with 3 kids and loads of water for my plants.A bonus of living in Spain = and the sunshine 77 degrees today everyone.

Off to tend to my seedlings and the kids,as we have an early start to the airport 5am then a busy Saturday as usual.

The HM lemonade was even better second time around as I had left the previous days lemon zest in there.Still have 3/4 litre left so that will do the kids tomorrow and have another set of lemons for the next batch.

Am busy collecting jam jars from my neighbours for onion relish or jam not sure which yet, maybe orange and lemon marmalade.

The onion relish is lovely with pate, cheese and sausages.

I do have 3kg of onions so I may fry off some and freeze in bags and make relish with the rest.

Still have 15 items on ebay mainly Fatface - will bank oaypal funds at end of month.

:rotfl: I'd need more convincing than cheap beans to brave the bridge lol. Can't be that though cos I'm north of the bridge too and I got one.
