Would that still count????
That's cheating  . How naughty are you?
But I like your style :cool:0 -
Hi everyone
Been away for a bit since I was away on a school trip most of the past week. That has curbed my grocery budget spend, but at the same time has made OH spend more of his own money on take away!
Will pop to the supermarket this evening to top up, anything to calm my anger with an Ebay buyer who is making my blood boil. I will not buy anything unnecessary though. I will be strong!

Hey folks
Reading through the paper today and came across this:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/wine/main.jhtml?xml=/wine/2008/06/13/edrose113.xml
I was in Waitrose today (had a moc coupon for them!) and a lot of their f & v although nice is  pricewise. Did get loads of offers and stocked up - so although I have now spent all of this months budget (only 12 days to pay day!) I will allow myself £15 for f & v and knock it off next months budget, 'cos at the moment I can't get anything else in my freezer (& its a 5ft one and I live alone:o ) and I'm worried the cupboards will fall off the wall with all the stuff in them :rotfl: .
Now better go and get myself organised, cooking lunch for dad tomorrow.
Also - to the lady who told her cats to get their own - be careful what you wish for, I told mine to get her own, so I get lots of live mice running round the house :rotfl: , think she wants me to catch them and cook them for her :rotfl:0 -

go and get your feet up...you need to get plenty of rest..don't think you will get much once the little bump arrives
:rotfl: Glad it's not only me then! Unfortunately meal plan has gone to pot. OH is having to come up with suggestions cos all I want is cornflakes and Asda Exotic Fruit Juice! No motivation to cook anything at allThink it'll be chicken kebabs on the bbq tonight as we've got some peppers to use up. He's Australian so any excuse to use the bbq and he's happy!
Am going to go and dig out my cross stitch now as I haven't done any for ages. All this talk of it has reminded me that I've got a half finished one in a drawer somewhere! ThanksJonathan Douglas born 20th January 2009 - 9lb 4oz

Girl_least_likely_to wrote: »Well I've spent 2 hours going round tesco's this evening trying to spend £60 so I can use my £6 off £60 MOC. I was adding everything up on my mobile as I went around. All the stuff on my list came to £35 so I have stocked up on loo rolls, washing up liquid, posh walkers crisps (half price), handwash, juice. Bought 3 lots of father's day cards and chocs and book and a top for £4 for me. So although I spent nearly £53 (with £6 MOC off and a couple of othe MOC's) only £30.56 is only classed as within GC budget. I don't include presents, alcohol or clothes
.
Only thing is I only have £16 to last me the rest of the month  .
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend
I just had a eureka moment here
Are we all doing it? I know I am..........................
'A sucker for a voucher'
Walking round the supermarket filling the trolley with stuff we don't really need to get our fiver off
Ok so if I fall short of my total and need to cram something in, I'll get cleaning products - at least they won't go off?
Or soap or toothpaste - something storable that will get used?
Here's my shopping secret No.1
Only buys beans when they are on special offer. Morrys had HP beans, 2 packs of 4 for £2 not long ago. I bought 16 cans and put them in the spare room. That's a years supply safely tucked awayI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

5th nsd in a row, and I shouldn't have to get anything until wednesday, so I'm feeling quite pleased with myself at the moment.
Made some spag bol yesterday, and added 2 handful of oats for the first time. Dh had a couple of mouthfulls then said "have you done anything different this time? It tastes really nice & creamy" :rotfl:
I owned up, but he was ok about it. Especially when I mentioned the 4 portions now residing in the freezer. Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j0 -
Thanks periwinkle for the banana and lemon drizzle cake recipe, will give it a go tomorrow. Today I've done a load of banana muffins and 2 loaves of the most delicious banana bread I have ever tasted today.
Jude xx
PS. the all in one mince with rice is delicious, have it all portioned up cooling to put in the freezer.
:hello: No problem - hope you enjoy it - let me know how you get on0 -
Hi all, spent a little more than wanted today but not over cross with myself, £17.38 but that was a 2 kg box of kellogs toppas cereal from the 99p shop, big box of grapes from market £2.50,£6.89 on more fruit and veg, £5 on meat from the market, and the rest was for some books and bits I got from a garage sale, they will have to come out of gc money as no other budget for them but they were books on my wish list and cost a lot less than if I had got them anywhere else:rolleyes:0

Went to Costco after much deliberation. Big mistake!
Spent 148.13 from the GC budget, and some more including the beer he paid for himself, a shoe organiser (I WILL get him to pick them up off the floor so I don't trip over them on the way into the bedroom) and a DVD for DD for when she finishes her exams on Thursday.
My only consolation is that if I had bought the same in Tesco I would have been at least another 75 pounds down, (gave up comparing at that point). I know I wouldn't have bought that quantity though, and had no fresh meat or veg in that lot either and was too late for the rotisserie chicken.
What I have got is enough sliced meats for DH packed lunches for about 6 weeks (when I have portioned and frozen it) and rice and washing powder to last until the next millenium. Was very tempted to buy a small sack of flour.
They had some Red Bull type drinks for 2.97 (+VAT) for 24 so got 2 packs. I won't normally buy Red Bull as they are so expensive, but it is pointless when they will go and buy them singly in the local shops or vending machines at up to 1.30 each, so I might as well give in. Wish I had got more now at 12p each, as they decided they do like them (have tried cheap ones before that they wouldn't drink) and there were only a few packs left.
Free range eggs worked out at 15p each so got 2 packs of 18 as I plan to do a lot more baking in the next couple of weeks and we had the last this morning.
Was doing so well until today, but total spend looking a bit scary now with 11 days to go and DD1 visiting next weekend for her birthday. We all go to Dublin on 23rd to 24th and she will staying with us for a few days after, usually a cue for a spending spree, but will need to be strong.
Car tax will have to wait until pay day.
Hope everyone is having a good evening.
Zzzzz0
