Well - I have been shopping now and kept in budget £18.03 which will definitely see me through the week, and brings the total to £27.93 for the month so far. I'm happy with that, but did end up buying some tinned fruit instead of fresh to stay within the £20. However, I now have a lot of 'potential meals' in the freezer and fridge so i won't get bored.

Afternoon all
Ladyroughneck.."im not looking" :rotfl: i closed my eyes quickly when i saw those tins (the baguettes looked yummy by the way...well through squinted eyes whilst trying to NOT look at the tins)... temptation is all around me.... the baguette recipe i used is fandabbydozey.. just can't let myself have any more bake/kitchen gubbins
I have lots of stuff that has really earnt its keep -but probably an equal amount of stuff that doesn't get used often enoughthe biggy being and electric pasta maker..where you chuck in all the ingredients...it mixes them and then pushes it through the cutters at the end..just like a play dough machine :rotfl: ...last time i used it i miss read the recipe..made the dough to stiff so the cutter fired off the end and shot my mum who was watching  :rotfl: ...good job it wasn't a kiddy -it would have whacked em right between the eyes and left them looking like a cyclopse:o
Another NSD for me..have been sat on my behind x stitching and knitting ...well its rainy outdoors so i don't even need to water the veggies at the moment...Although when i went out to check everything this morning i ate 3 more strawberries mmmmmm..glad hubby doesn't like strawbs :T
I have a loaf of bread under way as hubby wants "chucky eggs on toast for tea tomorrow".....
i think i have made 5NSDs in a row so im slowly clawing back the budget :j ... i have loads of meals that haven't needed using from this months meal plan too -so that [STRIKE]will[/STRIKE] should give me a couple of cheap months..... i really need to pull my socks up again and get a grip.. so please feel free to form a queue and kick me if i start buying stuff left right n centre
Well i had better get off and get the bread in the oven and then get on with some more crafting..just can't decide which to do..mums x stitch for xmas or more little knitted stockings for my tree
oh well... have a great day everyone :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Been lurking and picking up helpful tips for a while but only managed to organise keeping receipts in May- am hoping to come in under £400 budget as unexpected car bill of £175 will make things pretty tight this month
Off to make Chocolate cake for Father's Day now (much cheaper than pressie and will be v. appreciated)

Hi
Another weeks spending and now up to £53 (signature is £100 for month) Would have been less but Wilco's doing 3 bags of sugar for £2 and need to stock up as we have been making wine and will soon will be making jam.
Picking mange tout, asparagus, broad beans and salad leaves from the allotment so that helps with the budget.
Wilco's are selling some of their seeds for half price so picked up some broad bean, runner bean, parsley and cucumber seeds for next year.
have a good week everyone.Challenge 2 adults food and household.

ok - here's one i made up, but it may be a 'proper' recipe somewhere.
it's a good recipe for chicken thighs which are nice and cheap, and it always works! For me i use:
2 chicken thighs
Part of a bottle of sweet chilli dipping sauce
a red pepper
a little olive oil
Just rub the thighs over with olive oil.
Put them in a small oven-proof dish.
Pour over a generous amount of sweet chilli dipping sauce so they are well coated.
Cook in a preheated oven at 220°C for around half an hour, turning a couple of times.
Add a sliced red pepper and cook for a further 10 or 15 minutes.
Serve on a bed of boiled rice with watercress.
Sorry the times are a bit vague - it's not an exact science!!

Hiya - thanks for that. Only 9 weeks along so ages to go yet - just finding it difficult to get used to being so tired! OH keeps telling me to have a nap if I'm tired because there's a reason for it, but I feel guilty doing it! Having said that, I've had a couple of hours sleep this afternoon!
