    Hi :hello:

Well done victory on your weight loss :T

Just had my 2nd MrT delivery of the month tonight. Total was £75.42 but I had £6 off £60 spend and another £6.05 off in promotional savings :) Actual total came to £63.37 :)

That includes 2 large pieces of steak £4.58!! (I had requested small ones but the pickers always ignore that and get the largest  ) and a big box of chocs for OH for fathers day :shhh:

So I have £160.81 left for the rest of the month. Better go update my siggy...

    Take care everyone xx

Big choccy cake in oven and he brought me 8 more bags of flour:o I have enough flour to sink a battleship:eek: Its now damage limitation, i do have lots in though. Wont need to buy milk again this month, should literally be Fresh Fruit and Veg:D

    Evening all :)

Been stuck in meetings all afternoon, didn't get home till 8pm  On the plus side, I have just made my first chilli with added oats to bulk out, it tastes great and will last me about 3 days including lunches, all from a small 80p pack of mince. Thanks OSers for that tip!

I had a bit of a LBM this week regarding my financial situation, was seriously worried for a while but with the support of my wonderful OH & inspiration from MSE I have picked myself up and decided to take serious heed of my spending.

I need to do some food shopping tomorrow and it will be my first ever trip to Aldi! There is one sort of on my way home from work, so going to see how cheaply I can do a fortnight's shopping for. Wish me luck!

Short of money this month-as usual!!
Have bought a huge sack of potatoes-can anyone suggest any dishes that have potato as their basis?
Have thought of mash, cheesey mash, jackets, potato bake and the ideas have run out!!
    thanks
I made a nice spiced tortilla tonight, which was like a pastryless quiche with potatoes and cherry tomatoes in it with some spices as well. Cooked it in the frying pan and I have now sliced it in to portions for lunches. Tastes fab. Might be worth a go. Used just over 1lb of cooked potatoes and 8 eggs!

  • Hi,

Loo roll standing on was a top tip from somewhere in the melee of froums on this site,it works by rolling less out for loo attender to use - usually kids !!!!!

Have had a runnimg buffet in Eroski this evening with the kids so we had - cheese, salami, pate, french stick, mini pastries wirh prawns / fish / ham / cheese fillings / crips/olives/ nuts and loads of sweeties for the kids then came back for a beautiful beefy BBQ at my Icelandic friend's who are leaving tomorrow night.Marinated in garlic / soy sauce / black pepper / olive oil the beef was delish served with a salad of various leaves ,strawbs / cashews / sweetcorn and feta.Managed to get the kids to select 8 puffpastry savouries and put in freezer bag for ds4 packed lunch this week.Bargains for 1 euro wre 2 litres of uht fruit juices so Ill be stocking up on 8 - 10 pineapple and apple juices for coming weeks as I usually pay 86c - 99c a litre so 1/2 price bargain.

Need squash and cucumber tomorrow as the lolly moulds were a roaring success made with pure orange juice diluted, next I'll try blackcurrant cordial.

So bolognese has been put back, tomorrow is honey chicken and rice / Thursday is chicken curry and wedges / Friday is Spag Bol and Saturday we are at a christening so I'll have to make sure the rest of the chicken is sorted by tomorrow ,stock made and meat in ziploc bags for the following weeks meals.Sunday we are at a party so no food needed for the kids and I'll stay and help to save on fuel.

All my bakewell tarts are gone bar one.Teacher had one ,kids had one from school and pack ups now have a fresh baked treat in.

    Goodnight all.

Hi, just caught up on yesterday and today. Been a bit busy, had hospital appointment re: DS2 nut allergy. A lot to take in, scary but ok if we watch what we give him. Quite funny really she advised against ready meals(what are they, lol) etc, home cooking from scratch much safer.

Yesterday, I made yoghurt, using the last of the easiyo mix (already made), with a carton of UHT semi milk. I put in the maker like I would usually but it did not thicken. Any ideas what I did wrong?

Does anyone have any advice on this one, please?

Just made 48 decorated fairy cakes, mmmmmm.. got a bit carried away there, Choc chip cookies and cinamon biscuits. Bought a nice recipe book; Cookie Bible, lots of ideas to try in there. We also had homemade pizza, it's definately a lot nicer.
