  • I thought chilli and lager went well together, it probably has the plant equivalent of a hangover..so lots of water and an aspirin, or paracetamol may help...
    Hope the weekend was good.

It was indeed, ta! Hmm I wonder if plant would like some orange juice, always works for me...

Ooh just read bit about Roald Dahl books, I absolutely loved them, think the BFG was my fave.. and Matilda.. my dad used to read them to me, doing all the voices, and then read them all again (and again) myself... still got them all at my parents' house along with lots of Ladybird books, Enid Blyton etc, won't let them get rid of them!

  • Hi i won't sell the books. I love them too much, but it is nice to know there is a wee buffer if i need it. In absolute deperation..........Good luck for tonight hun at SW, my group meet tomorrow. I like it, but as i have been a member for a long time, the info gets a bit samey..it is all up to us at the end of the of the day.

I have a bit of a dilemma, as in i have been working meal plans and have come in at the £2.20 ish mark.. now should i link them to this thread or send them to Weezl and see what she make of it? I though about putting them in a seperate doc, and linking as well...

Today i have had the 5 bean soup and a slice of HM bread..it is very SW, and the HM bread is weighed, as the cardboard which passes for an healthy extra is just not going to cut it for me!

Glad that you decided to keep the books as they sound too precious to sell..Please do post your £2 meal ideas on here as they may help me and others and especially if they are SW ish as I need to lose weight also and really struggle for ideas xxx
  • I will have a think about the meal plans, because although they are part of my budget and ultimately part of my reason for wanting to be debt free..i am not sure it is a DFW subject..i may just do a linky thing.

ok then..must have misread ..I thought you were doing a sort of £2 challenge and that you were on SW and was doing the family meals for that including SW meals so thought it was useful to others on how to save money..lol...so DFW ..and rather interesting and helpful to others.Have a good day xxxx
  • Hi Taxi you didnt misread..it was just me pondering, i am doing a challenge and it is £2.20 per day..As a lot of them are green day stuff, it does relate to SW, i just have to be careful weighing out HM bread and stuff, i have a link for SW meals ....hold on

A lot of these can be adapted, and there are loads on Weezl's thread, indexed at the beginning.

Mine yesterday was the soup, costed out and tuna salad and baked potatoes, with HM, jam sponge pudding..i just do the costings via weights etc. £1.68
    tuna 1x tins..from offer 50p--6 tins were about £3 --i stockpile offers!
salad, portioned out, 35p lettuce, toms, cucumber, mushrooms, peppers(worked out amount and divided) Have loads left when make up a big bowl for at least two days.
herbs..free, mayo about 2p low fat
6 baked potatos (from large bag) 22p
five bean soup...,stock, carrots,toms...60p (soup from an offer bag organic as well)Makes two days worth so todays is 30p
    Hm bread..1.5p per slice..x4 - 6p

jam sponge pud, works out at about 30p, flour, sugar, marg, 2x eggs (frange from 30 tray=£3.50. HM jam from friend.
    Milk..for day 25p
porridge works out at about 3-6p as they like double helpings

They also scoff fruit, and snacks and the rest of HM bread..so the extra per day goes on that.
so that gives me from yesterday an extra 50p, for snacks etc...i may be slightly off on some of the prices, as i stockpile offers, and will bulk out with what's to hand as well.

I also make HM, biccies, and other goodies.
I am trying to work it out as an average.....

    We were stuffed as well!
I also have a buffer, quite a bit as DD2 needs other stuff on top, so hopefully it will all come in a lot lower than previous months, and i cut that right back as well. Does that make sense?
    Hope it helps BOBx

  • I have just edited sig, so makes more sense,
meals-£2.20 per day for 4, that's three inclucing breakfast.
Grocery budget, could be £200, to include all needs for dd2, and offers..etc.
