Hey there are a few who are interested, so join in ..the more the merrier. I dont know whether you have read Elantan's posts, but i think we are aiming for 2012, in time for the Olympics.

The Great wall of China, that sounds fab, did you need smog masks? My friend was in bejing before Christmas and said it was awful with smog.

The round britain one sounds great as well... That lovely Mr.fogle has a lot to answer for doesn't he? I wish i was fit enough to join him and james cracknell on the south pole one coming up.:D
ps there is a lot of turnip related stuff with a bit of debt busting along the way, and a few crazies!

China was great, I had wanted to go there since seeing "inn of the sixth happiness" as a small child.

No there was no smog, I was there pre cars, mostly bikes so no smog, nearly didn't get through airport, got sent back on my own and thought I was going to get arrested, thrown into jail and never seen again, but that's another story.

Have now finished catching up and the thread is great, glad I came for a nose.

Have similar probs with dp re money, I have been in debt lots of times by being too generous in helping others get out of theirs, and am owed about £35000. Mostly owed by dp. But now a new me has emerged (I hope) because I'll never change him, so have to change me. I'm good at budgeting so now have all finances seperate and MUST learn not to bail anyone else out (especially dp who I think, deepdown, knows I will)

    God, how I go on:o :D
anyway now you know where the name comes from :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope you had a good weekend Bob - I have to agree with ISOM about the book, some things are more important than getting debt free a little bit quicker.

How's the beans? I've been away most of the weekend so will have to check the veggies when I get home tonight!

Hey well done on the marathon read..i enjoy going back every now and then and can't believe how much i have rambled on...

I can totally sympathise with the sentiments, as in herewegoagain, i feel it is the story of my married life....still I can live in my own turnip infested little world...so hence the thread. Plus i can resort to the oldest profession if stuff gets tight....so you never know! I did think about lap dancing...but am no good at dancing on laps, my long dress and chains get in the way..people with bony knees would knock me off, and i would break em:rotfl: :rotfl:

As for growing plants..am no expert as have had a few forays, and i would just say give it a go..some stuff is all year round, and if there is a greenhouse even better:T

Hello Kika, i agree..i had a hanging tom basket last year(sounds a bit weird really) and would get a few when i wanted ..it produced loads.

I haven't done the walk yet, and young Squizz is the whizz at the moment for her moonwalking...we are only humbly following in her footsteps:D

Ooh giant beans.. you could use them as decoration on your turnip cocktail :D

I've just remembered that I need to do a bit of gardening first aid tonight, poor big chilli plant in my living room suffered an injury when I knocked a pint of lager into it last night :o One of its 'branches' was snapped by the glass hitting it so will need to see if that can be rescued.. have no idea what effect the alcohol will have but it looked a bit lopsided this morning!
