  • I agree about the arguing, but i know where they are coming from..and in a way the defense is part of dfw, as well..because if you like someone or misread something then it seems that points will be made.
I must admit to rounding on a particulalry naster poster two nights ago, he had resurrected old threads and me tig, and penguin had some harsh things to say..all tongue in cheek, but could have been mistaken if we hadn't explained what was going on.
The problem was i think burn out..and folk defending their rights..very forceful, but not off putting i hope for some folk. I havent read it all, and posted bits myself...but have also missed a lot of it as well.I think the best thing now would be for it to die down..and heads down. Funny how it affects all of the board, folk leaving and the upset of everything..a delicate balance methinks.

I think you've got it spot on there Bob - the delicate balance thing. If someone leaves, we all feel the loss, whether we knew that person well or not, because there is always a reason for them leaving, and if that reason is something that has happened on forum, it inevitably creates tensions.

I think as well that things can come across much differently (that doesn't sound right but my head is too tired to correct it!) in writing than if the person was standing in front of you. Constructive criticism can sound judgemental.....and honesty can come across as harshness.

Stick in a couple of troll posts, and the whole thing explodes.

It has been a long time since the last 'big row' though, so we do pretty well in general...I think! :)

I know i felt it when Keren went, was chuffed she came back, then Pania..and now IA..i think a good blow out every now and then isn't a bad thing and my own personal oipinion is that it shows the fighting spirit of the board as well...especially against bloomin trolls and their ilk...but if it was a BC post i think i may well be guilty of crimes of unpassion..  :rotfl: :rotfl:
Just as long as you are both ok::kisses3:

Glad I missed that action then!!!!!....there have been a few nasty posters about but it's lot friendlier on DFW than some of the other boards...not long till your holiday xxx
  • Just a week to go..i seem to be running out of debtbusting steam, as it draws nearer..but may well have a carboot on Sunday if weather keeps up.
Tonight we had a really delicious bean curry with rice.

I reckon came to about £1 in total as spices all in cupboards. followed by strawberries from garden ( not pinched from El's!)

    So a nice budget meal..yum!

I am making the final cake for my friends wedding..it is a bit late, but wanted to make sure i was clear of lurgy before making it. I wished that i had done this one first as it is the largest one..ah well.

bought some bargains in town as well..just from cheap shop as needed stock for hols..only spent about £5, as didn't realise it was a sale as well..no wonder it was busy.

    Hope everyone is well.x

    Bob,
I wish I lived close to you.

:j Me too ! Mind you we could go, would only have to buy fuel for one way, wind power would get us home after bean curry ! :D

  • Why my beans are cooked so well..no wind power is necessary..well so far.

The smell of cooking has driven everyone to distraction..and the cake is massive, risen quite a bit over the top..so lots of nice cut offs, for testing purposes only...

It would be nice if you both lived nearby, you could be BOB's official testers like!

Will show piccies when all boozied up the cakes and iced...drool...
