  • Cheers KC, i felt it was worth honouring and the really nice thing was some of the nurses off the ward were in the canteen as well and two of them came over...such a lovely caring place, Pendlebury. Next year all the childrens hospitals are going into the MRI so all one site..i hope it doesn't lose the lovely touch it has now.

she will be under a consultant for a very long time..she has been since birth and we used to see him when he was an apprentice consultant..so it has been a long time!

DD1 Used to have consultants in liverpool, and wrightington for her arthritis(rsd)..so as you can see we used to tour lancashire quite regularly..

Ooh poor BOBlets! not a good thing (hmm I know MRI I have had to drive Mum there before when I could still drive - parents live in Altrincham!)

  • small world then..they are ok you know. Have never been down about it all. The only time i reckon DD2 felt bad was when she was diagnosed with diabetes last year..but when she started to feel well..she never looked back. We get the odd moments, but nothing that you cant write off as being a teenager!

I always think it has shown them how fortunate they are as in having treatment and good care, especially when in hospital..it really make you think how fortunate you are..and definately puts it all in perspective..they are such positive places, and i often found that the parents whose children were coping with such heartbreaking conditions were so inspirational in their attitudes and they way they cope..truely uplifting in an odd way..IYKWIM.

  • That seems to be the way doesn't it beanilou? I reckon they will either sell the land for houses or if listed turn it into flats. I hate to think of all the money spent on it as well as they have upgraded loads of stuff.

Hiya Bob, lurking more than posting. Hope your daughter's new Consultant is as good as the old one. You are doing so well with all your challenges & projects. Not too far off your hols is it ? Bet you can't wait.

Noticed that there is a poster called Miggy on Weezl's thread ! I will have to be Mrs Miggins in full then ? XX

  • How very dare they nick your name..you have prior priviledges here..I hadn't noticed to be honest, it moves at such a pace doesnt it?

Why are you lurking hun? You usually give us a cheeky glimpse of your humour..

Yep looking forward to hols, have nearly finished all the washing now..and i am packing at the beginning of the week..as DD1 wants a bit of stuff bringing down and we have to fit it all in the car, so a bit of tactical manouvering going on there.

DD2's consultant will hopefully be a tad better than the other one we saw when she had appts in May..she has left now and we haven't met the other one. The nurse she is under for the bowel stuff is great though..arent they always!

I hope all is well with your brother El, are you bearing up as well?

Bob tell me about the packing ! We had doggy in the boot (hatchback) so all our stuff had to go on the back seat. Not just clothes but bedding, towels, basic foodstuffs etc .

Can't stop thinking about my poor sil so need to be diverted by reading all my fave threads, could do without the arguments on a certain thread. I don't think this hot but cloudy and humid weather helps people's mood.
