    "REFERRAL POSTS

Posts from which site users gain are permitted only on the Referrers Board. This includes links to rpoints etc threads. Any posted elsewhere will be moved to the Referrers Board. Links to the referrals board from the main forums are not allowed.

This also includes members saying "Please PM me for code" or "check my post on referrers". The overriding rule is that no advertising is allowed on the main forums."

    "KEEPING THREADS ON-TOPIC

Please try not to take threads off-topic. This can be confusing for new users and makes it especially difficult for people coming through from the email to find the information they want. Where requests from Board Guides for threads to be brought back on track have not been followed off-topic posts may be removed. We encourage community, but not thread derailment."

    "ADVERTISING

This site is free from advertising. Posts on any board considered to be advertising goods, services and/or companies will be removed. We also do not allow advertising via PM

Examples of this can include anything from a specific sales post or a link to your own website in which you attempt to sell something to someone offering their holiday home to forum members. Unfortunately we cannot allow any advertising of any description no matter how honourable the intention. "

    ... I could go on...

Read the rules before spamming on MSE...

The unit prices remain the same at 9.025 kwh for electricty and 2.62 kwh for gas. The monthly cost for this fixed price is taken by icreasing the daily service charge. At present for electricity it is 10.76 per day after 20 May 2008 15.45 per day, at present for gas it is 11.63 per day after 20 May 2008 16.32 per day.

These are the figers I used when call cuating you usage for the year based on the readings provided. (the usage in not that bad for two in a two bed house)

These are the fixed price till 2011 rates, so now you have taken the gamble that the prices are going to rise and that you will start to make savings. This would be a long term product as the prices go up to will get more and more of a saving, but then at the end you will have to be prepared for the undoubtaly huge increas in unit costs you will have.

Basically its a good deal then - and recommend I go with it - assuming it is fixed to 2011?

Utility Warehouse distributers are the curse of this and many other websites.

Basically they have a system of commission earning salesman who attempt to get business by spamming on sites like this or preying on friends and relatives to take out membership so that they can make money from them.

Thank you - already been caught lately re mobile phone (see T3 Direct consumer vent forum)!! Don't want it happening again.

Cardew, what do you think of SP's kiss and make up offer?

I would like to stay with them to be honest :o They were good in the beginning and if I manage online this time, then it should be better according to you lot! But I really am cr*p with figures and kwh and stuff, so would appreciate some expert advice here. They didn't say how long this 'fixed' price is for. Should I request it in writing?

I have been with SP for about two years now and believe they are one of the better suppliers of energy. I have an online fixed tariff with them and supply a reading everymonth. No estimates and have always found them to be very, very good.

    I give them every recommendation.

Thank you Mable - I am inclined to stay with them. I just don't understand all the figures etc. I set up a spreadsheet so that I can see what is what but when SP sent that last email, I wasn't sure if that was good or not, I have tried to do comparisons, but it gets very confusing! They said it was fixed, but didn't say til when....

Thank you for your help - it has been, how can I say it, unhelpful?

Recommend that if you do not have anything constructive to say - then just don't. If you do not like my problem, then go to a thread that will not annoy you. You are obviously far above me in the intelligence quota.

I and others have given you lots of help however you just  post the same things!

How many times did I post the SP email offer prices on the fixed rate and asked for advice? How many times have you replied to that with constructive advice?
