fwiw I fell pg when on the pill, and the doctor assured me no damage would have been done.

How did you feel when you thought the result was positive? If the earth fell out from beneath your feet perhaps you need to consider a more reliable form of contraception- the pill's not 100%!

If you were pleased at the +ve, then perhaps that will make you think about taking some folic acid and maybe planning things with your OH??:D

Very overpriced! I used a cheapo one from Superdrugs own brand and that was positive! (6 month old Harrison sitting on my lap as I type this!)
3 days is still a bit early, give it a couple of days then use an own brand one they are just as good.
I hope you get the result you want :j

Agreed with Lynsey76. You shouldn't have to spend more than about £3 on a pregnancy test and they're cheaper if you buy them in pairs. I've found with some tests that they don't work (i.e. they sit there doing nothing) if you don't use enough urine. Dip the stick in for at least 10 seconds. Are your periods usually regular? If so and you're late then try again every 2-3 days.

BTW I got a positive result on the day of my missed period, but the result gets stronger the longer you leave it, and depends on the sensitivity of the test. Also remember that false negatives are more common than false positives.

my periods can be anything between 29-35 days but i noticed a couple of wks ago i had some brown/dark red spotting.
its strange usually a wk before i am due i get terrible cramps and a break out on my face, but now im dealing with headaches, dizzyness, nausea and the occastional cramps
i'll try nxt wk if my period hasnt arrived by then

My sister works for a pharmacuetical company. She tells me you can get false negatives but never false positives.

A trip to your GP may be worthwhile. It may be something else, ie an illness/virus, but they'll do a pregnancy test and it won't cost a thing. You'll also get their help and reassurance if needed.

Yep - my experience backs this up. I was sure I was pregnant (had been before) two tests were both negative. A week later it was a positive result. :j
apparently I was pregnant with twins and that means the hormone levels weren't right to be measured by the test.

Poundland have two pregnancy tests in a pack for (strangely lol) £1! I bought them when DH was convinced i was pregnant, I was convinced i wasnt so didnt want to pay for an expensive test.

They are dip tests, little harder to use but it came up a faint positive (gobsmacked!!) so did the other the next day positive again. Bought a more expensive one positive again! Turned out I was 'just' pregnant when i did the cheap tests but they still came up positive so i was very impressed!!

The resulting baby is now having his nap! lol

Try those ones instead of pricey ones.
