Obstructive neighbour problem...

I had viewers today, it was their 3rd visit and I thought that this is it the house is sold. I had showed them where to park and not obstruct our neighbours steps and they parked just as I asked. I live in a cul de sac which is a quiet adopted highway. During the viewing our neighbour returned and parked her 4x4 as close to the behind our viewers gulf as she could blocking them in and there was not one other car in the parking area so it was quite deliberate. They had to ask her to move her 4x4 so they could leave. I am at a loss of what to do, I have not had a viewer in months and the new agent we have is really pro active and they think this is the buyer. This neighbour has been funny with me since the house went up for sale 6 months ago and this is the 2nd viewer she has put off. What do I do, what can I do thats legal?

Sounds like they have a problem. You really need to find out what it is.

I would try and make a point of talking to her the next time you see her. Have a general chit chat and tell her how stressful it is trying to sell the house. Was she okay before you put the house on the market or has she always been a bit off?

I would go round to see your neighbour armed with a bunch of flowers, and after giving her the flowers, ask her if there was any reason in particular that she blocked your "guest" in the other day?

Point out that you really need to move, and that you were hoping she hadn't put off the nice family that were interested by blocking them in, because otherwise you'll be forced to sell it to the other interested party, who just happen to be a family of punk rockers, who will play drums and guitars til 4am, and obstruct the entire street with large white vans for carrying band kit from gig to gig. Not to mention those all night BBQs at weekends after gigs, where the entire back lawn will be rocking with pot smoking skin heads.... Ohhh, if only she'd not blocked that other person in!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Prior to the for sale sign going up she was just ok. I offered her half the cost of tidying up a piece of land between us owned by her and she then got really off with me, shouting screaming and eventually went out and cleared the land that same night with her bare hands crying and hysterical but she did tidy it up, even the cat mess. But I add I dont feel able to aproach her again. I was hoping for a miracle or a legal route

Did she perhaps think it was another neighbour who she's fallen out with, and didn't realise they were to do with you?
A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.

This is a odd one, you may want to go get some advice from the CAB office, her actions may come under the Anti Social Behaviour law in which case legal action could be taken.
    Do you have a car?!
May sound silly but block her in, then shell know how it feels.
Other than that I would recommend that you take someone as support with you and go speak to her and tell her the behaviour cannot cary on or you will go to a solicitor, that alone should make her see you are not going to put up with her actions.

    Goodluck

You seem to have the jist of it! But she could not have mistaken the car for anyone elses. She really shot herself in the foot with this one as I think she would have liked the change and liked him and this family.

Is the style of car relevant to the thread?

You didn't mention the viewers car, was it a coupe, an estate, a hot hatch, a saloon, ect?
