Ok All, heres what i think will be my final I/E

    Income is £1467.78

    and my outgoings are

Mortgage payments or rent on your home £ 525.00
Housekeeping (including food and cleaning) £ 350.00
Gas, electricity, other heating £ 70.00
    Water £ 25.00
    Telephone charges £ 30.00
Travelling to and from work and other essential journeys £ 200.00
    Clothing £ 50.00
Maintenance payments and fines £ 0.00
    Council tax £ 110.00
    Tv liscense £11
    Holidays £50
    Haircuts £30
    Car tax £18
    car insurance £30
    Car maintenance £20
    Cat food £34
    Vets £10
    Emergencies £20
    work phone £10

    total monthly outgoings £1593.00

    does that look ok?

also i will need to send a letter to pleady for car exemption, does anyone have a draft i could use for that and should i hand it in with the forms at court or keep it to post to the OR?

    Bump......
  • As everyones case for car exemption is different, there isn't really a standard letter..you just need to state YOUR case.
This might help CAR EXEMPTION (read 31.2.21)

I don't think theres a cat in hells chance (sorry:rolleyes: ) about claiming that amount for cat food, but you can spend that amount out of your excess/other amounts claimed for in your I & E. Maybe change cat food to pet insurance.

I had a similar amount of excess outgoings as you, and although the OR questioned it, i just did as you and cut back elsewhere.

Your haircuts maybe lowered by the OR.
You've not put in breakdown cover for the car.

    Hope that helps a little.

    Hi Debtless,
You might want to cut down on the cat food, haircuts & give a breakdown on your travelling costs ie petrol <eeek> £1.30 a litre for diesel,MOT.Do you pay rent or mortgage if the latter any equity???

  • Hi,

The OR will question why your outgoings are more than your income.
As that will still make you insolvent.

I would adjust your figures so your just below your income, as the OR
    will do it for you.

i thought the cat food is reasonable, 55p a tin 2 cats 2 tins a day it adds up, not that i spend that of course. haircuts for 3 people that aint bad. i will add breakdown cover and house insurance as long as the OR doesn't want proof of these of course.

Unless the cat food is a special diet from the vet it will have to come out of your housekeeping.

Apart from injections and some kind person trying trying to poisin(sp) them a few years back they are fit healthy and now 12 yrs old and never see the vet! So it is not always the more expensive the food the better for them.

You are treading a fine line if you start to tell porkies. The OR will go through everything with a fine tooth comb and you may end up like dippychick's oh he has to produce food and petrol recipts in 3 moths time to back up his said expenditure.D

PS why are you trying so hard to make it look like you have to cut back once it all goes through or have i ot that bit wrong:confused:
