Hi everyone! :hello:
Weekend plans have been adapted somewhat as ds and his oh are coming down to stay, which is lovely but have had to amend the menu plan somewhat, hopefully will still come in under the £40 target this week by using up what is in store and doing a bit of scratch cooking. I have found a bottle of good wine and some nice chocs in the cupboard to take with us tonight as a contribution so just tomorrow to worry about.
Todays menu will be a tuna pesto pasta meal with salad and lots of fruit juice for lunch followed by a takeaway treat for ds and gf as we are out (oh is paying for that one:D )
lots of ice cream in freezer for pud.
Tomorrow will be ham and eggs for breakfast, roast chicken etc., for dinner and we are out for the evening meal.
Have had to flylady the spare room for our guests, in a hurry but I needed the kick to get it done!:o
Have a good day!

V. jealous of the people having productive days getting lots of stuff done around the house. I'm on 1000 words with my essay, 2000 words to go
Just fed my 'mortage chicken' with birthday money. I know I now have no mortgage (as house fell through) but it is something positive to work towards for the future!

Hello all
Gosh, I can't believe the 30th September is here already. Where the heck did September GO??? I'm sure it was July only yesterday.
Anyway, I've been in a welter of OS this morning.I woke far too early (thanks to trying to drink 2ltr water every day) and snuggled up in my lovely armchair with my knitted patchwork blankie and a cup of tea made from freebie Fair Trade teabags, while I got on with knitting another tiny bobble hat for donating to Innocent's Supergran charity. After a brekkie of poached egg on h/m wholemeal toast for DS and myself, we bathed and took the dogs for our constitutional. Since then, I discovered that the chicken casserole on the menu for tonight isn't, in fact, being prepared by OH, but by me. So I got on with the cuttin' and a-choppin' and its all chuckling in the SC (obtained from Freecycle). Hopefully, in time to cook properly by tonight. Then, I whipped up a Weetabix cake, which is baking as we speak in the BM. Once that's done, I'll put some bread on. I've lunched on Shreddies, sultanas and banana with h/m yoghurt from our first go at making it in the EasiYo yoghurt maker. :T I've got to say, its very yoghurty .. and completely gorgeous.
So that necessitated my cooking two big Bramleys, after which I sprinkled on some frozen raspberries (PYO) and frozen blackberries (hedgerow job) so that we can make DIY corner-style yoghurt for tonight's dessert. I've also washed the dishes and done one load of white shirts in the WM. PHEW!!! Do I get my wings now, then? :A :rotfl:
I'm about to hang out the wet washing and hope that its got long enough in which to dry. Its quite sunny and breezy here now, so I'm hoping that Jackie O's knees are referring to later on today, rather than in the next couple of hours! Then its time to help DS with his homework and maybe another cuppa with a sample of that Weetabix cake.
You'll notice there's no mention of housework or cleaning ... did it yesterday. :T
Have a great rest-of-day. We're off to Rochester Castle Gardens tomorrow (weather permitting) for "Celebrating Medway" .. apparently there's going to be music, dancing, food stalls and general merrymaking. Anybody else going? If so, we'll see you there!
Hugs to all who need them, congratulations to Dr Onestepand hope all those who are feeling poorly, are back on their feet very soon.
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Afternoon!
Had a busy day! done the shopping and got the stuff ready for a carboot tomorrow so hope the weather is fine.
DS2 causing a few probs at the moment, stayed out till 11pm last night, didn't answer his phone and didn't come in for any tea either. He's 14 and at the trappy teenage stage now he wants to go to a sleepover tonight with us taking him and a friend. Its just so stressfull talking to him sometimes you find yourself agreeing to anything for a peaceful life:mad:
Hope you've all had a stress free enjoyable day as possible!;)

Afternoon all :hello:
Not been on the thread for a while, but thought I'd pop in.
Been a bit quiet on the OS front this week - made a rice pudding the other day, tried a bread pudding but my Googled recipe was too egg rich so it came out almost omlette-y (got a better recipe from mum now, so will try again next week). And I've just stood and peeled and sliced a load of apples from the tree - I now have 11lb of prepared apple in the freezer - that's a lot of pie!
Got hubby to try both puds though - a miracle *thud* When I say that he's tried more new foods in the past fortnight than he has in the 12 years I've known him, you'll understand what I mean, lol - he's worse than the kids :rotfl:
I know the post is all food - but that's where most of our OS changes need to be made.
Have a great day (what's left of it) :wave:DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -

Hi there folks
Penelope Penquin - I got a cherry popper from Lakeland (but that was a few years ago so I dunno if they still do them). I upgraded during the summer to a swanky stainless steel one. (I am weird and cannot eat fruit if the stones are still attached. Even an apple I have to cut up first.) Can't remember the name of the shop but it was one of those kitchenware places that only sells pots, dinnerware, gadgets etc. Hope this helps.
Was back at work today. Wasn't that bad considering it was work. We were discussing our Christmas night out :xmastree: It's only 9 weeks away :j
Got confirmation today we got one of those Sun £9.50 holidays :T . However they wanted another £61 of us so I phoned and cancelled linen (we can take our own) and the entertainment passes (we never use the facilities) but I wonder how many other people would get "sucked" in and just pay for things they don't use/need?
Not done much else this afternoon except more washing. I am starting to get sick of it
Everything has now stopped as X Factor is on.
Bye for now0 -
