    OS tip of the day
When you are middle aged, have had 3 kids and are the current owner of a weak pelvic floor do not leave going to the loo to the last minute when you are wearing dungarees. My washing pile just got bigger :(

    Thanks:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
    I enjoyed that.
....and right now I need a laugh.
sitting drinking some of my 2004 Slow gin in order to unwind, so what better than a rummage through O.S. and the daily thread.
36 hours to OFSTED and the display I was putting up at 6:00 this afternoon will have to come down. Too colourful. Bit like my language on occasion.

Love to all, you're keeping me going more than you could imagine.

    OS tip of the day

When you are middle aged, have had 3 kids and are the current owner of a weak pelvic floor do not leave going to the loo to the last minute when you are wearing dungarees. My washing pile just got bigger :(

I have a headache, I have a snare drum to remove from the boot of my car tomorrow ASAP so I am off for a quick squiz through the other threads and then off to bed to watch A Life Coach Less Ordinary.

Also be careful when you are out in a big shop and you sneeze suddenly!!!! luckily i was in a skirt!!!!
  • Good morning all, :D

Well my day is about to start, and No I won't start the new thread. I've only done it once and I"m too frightened to do it again now. My day will be painting and such so it's not really in the *OS* criteria so will be off. Have a great sleep everyone. Byeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • And this is pecisely what we don't want!! You feel free to post anything, anytime AussieLass!! We're interested in your painting, even if you can't differentiate between quality Marmite and inferior Vegemite!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :D:D

edited to add, I get mouth ulcers and tried Marmite. God it stings like hell, I know why you forget the original pain!!!
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.
  • Wanted to post in response to something I read on this thread, but not at all OS, so decided not to bother.
Pen-Pen, I'd wondered about this myself and resolved that if I wanted to respond to something that wasn't especially OS, I'd PM my response offlist. At least then I don't feel as though I've missed out and the OP doesn't feel ignored!
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

It is veggie but sadly, I can't post it because of copyright, but I will send you and Shez a PM telling you the source if that's ok?

beachbeth - See you thursday ;) The salmon was very reasonably priced from Iceland Frozen foods and I steam it in my 3 tier hob steamer at the same time as the potatoes and veggies

earthmother - I'm pleased you decided to make your way over, lovely to have you with us :D Hope your son enjoys his 3rd birthday :D

No os'ing in the practical sense since the bit this morning but OS has most definately been my preoccupation today!

    Hi Queenie.

Have I misunderstood? I thought the copyright rule meant that you could post an exert and the link to the original source, that way everyone can share the recipe?

The Board Guides have a sticky at the top of the board which says

    Copyright

Can I remind members that while pretty much everything on the web is free to READ - it is very much NOT all free to COPY.

On the top of EVERY PAGE here on MSE in the orange bar is a request to respect the copyright of others and to post only a short extract and then include a link for those who might wish to read more.

There is also a rule listed in The Forum Rules which I will quote for you below.

I simply cannot check every recipe that is posted on Old Style and safeguard our site against possible legal action for copyright infingements.

Please use only an extract and a link.

    COPYRIGHT

Do not copy long text from other publications/websites. This may breach copyright. Instead use short quotes and a link. MoneySavingExpert.com asserts copyright on all comments posted on the boards.

Sounds like an interesting recipe and I would love try it too. icon7.gif
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

  • The copyright rules covers recipes if they are on the web when you can post a link but this doesn't cover a recipe from a book :)

True, but with books correct and full accreditation is usually the accepted form, is it not?

    Morning everyone

It's Tuesday! OK I know, not much cause for celebration...

Thought I would get on with the thread. Must admit I hesitated big time about starting it after yesterday's discussions. I haven't been to sleep yet (ahhh worst night EVER!!!) so have been mulling it over since about 2.00 am.

Old Style today - keeping my eyes open will be a major achievement. Assuming I do retain control of my eyelids I'll be making a Chickpea Curry for dinner. There was a link to it posted here on OS some time ago, so thanks to whoever provided that. I got a big haul of reduced fruit from Sainsbury's yesterday - so have to decide what to do with it, even if it's just freeze it and think about it another day. My Lidl shopping days seem to have dwindled - I do go every now and again, but inevitably they only have mouldy hairy fruit and veg when I do get there. And for some reason it's rarely half price here.

That's it folks, have a lovely Tuesday. Bye for now.
