Morning everyone :hello:
It has just started to rain here......... oh well, on the weather forecast yesterday there was just a large patch of rain over our house!
Not sure what we're doing today, but I suspect a walk into town to get a paper. DH is "on call" today. I know he only works with computers, but the company that he works for works every day, around the clock so at weekends they need support if they have some system disaster!
DH and I went to the cinema last night to watch "Walk the Line" - the Johnny Cash film. Our town has a screen a couple of nights a month in a theatre/converted church and plays semi-recent (but not current) movies. Anyway, if you haven't seen "Walk the Line", then I suggest that you see it. I didn't really know much about Johnny Cash beforehand, but the performances by Joaquim Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon were exceptional. Especially Reese Witherspoon.
Not much else to report today. Can't remember what we're having for supper, so I'd better check on my menu plan and take it out of the freezer!(all HM, obviously........ )

Morning all,
Been up in Scotland for a few days. Drove back this morning at 6.30a.m. and arrived back home a wee while ago. Absolutely shattered now so I think a wee snooze might be the order of the day before I have to go into town to do some jobs that I forgot to do before we went to Scotland.
Dobie - sorry to hear of your troubles with your son. He will have to hit rock bottom before he will want to do anything about his drinking. I just hope that it is sooner rather than later for both your sakes. (((hugs))) I saw my cousin's daughter when I was visiting and she has been clean and sober for just over a year now. She is so proud of herself - as is her mum. I was so happy for both of them.
To everyone else who needs, or just wants, a hug (((((((( hugs )))))))
Its nice to be back"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning everyone
Not much happening here today just a few bits of housework to do and thats it. When into town yesterday to buy the kids school shoes and i couldnt get any to fit DD1 and we had to settle for a pair that i didnt really think were suitable but was the best of a bad lot. The lady in Clarks said she had wide feet and skinny ankles making things a bit more difficult and they had nothing to fit her - i was not impressed and totally fed up with the whole thing by the end of it all.
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning All
Thanks for the kind words. DH is much happier now, hes worried about work and also getting the mortgage. ehave agreed to get the mortgage paid off as quick as possible. Aim is 10 years so we will see how it goes
Dobie: So sorry to here about your DS's troubles, fortunately I've had no personal experience of addiction, but what I've seen through work I think you just have to be supportive from a distance and not be suprised what the addict does next. Heartbreaking for you as a parent cant imagine how you even begin to deal with it.
PP: Hug to DD its horrible worrying about starting something new, I sure she will be fine by this time next week. Does she keep a diary? I kept one the whole time my mum was ill, it really helped me get my worrys and fears on paper, those horrible type of dreams where a common occurance for me too.
Plan for the is as follows.
1. 2 load for WM
2. Make sheppards pie (ended up with takeaway yesterday)
3. Pick up carpet cleaner from MIL.
4. Go to shops and pick up cleaning equipement for sister house (my moving in present).
5. If it ever stops raining go and see classic car show at local stately home.Sorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Morning everyone! Hugs to everyone that needs one.
Dobie, I agree with anniebooklover. You can't really do anything except to be there when he needs you. You certainly can't force someone to stop drinking, they need to want to do it themselves. It must be awful to watch someone harming themselves like this though.
Not quite awake yet to write much, so I just hope you all have a nice day (even though it seems to be pouring with rain all over the UK!)
B: Toast made with HM bread
L: Something in a cafe (my Saturday treat)Havent thought that far ahead but may make a HM Cheese & onion pie

Good morning everyone!!! I was adamant that I wasn't going to spend ages typing messages to people but.....
Joanasmum - I hope this is a start of some improvements for you and your DH. I think very few marriages escape without some strain when the babes are little.
Dobie ((hugs)) It must be really difficult for you. For what it's worth I think you're doing the most anyone can.
Hi Pen pen - right, llechwen, how to pronounce .... ummm, I'll have to work on that one. PAvlovs dog, are you about? I'm sure you're good at this
Churchmouse - hope you finally got to bed
Lucie - I would post you a bleary eyed smiley from smiley central, but they seem to have dissapeared from my pc again
Ronankfan ((HUGS)) I absolutely hate shopping for the childrens school shoes. We've allways had to use clarks due to extra wide feet/high instep and I know how gutting it can be to have to fork out so much money for less than perfect shoes.
I think it would be fair to say that I had a lie in this morning - I didn't surface until gone 9:30!!!! A quick glance at the house tells me what I should do today - there is not a surface that isn't cluttered with mess. Never mind hotspots, the house is on fire!
I start college a day before the boys return to school so I think I need to get everything in order by Sunday evening. There's no hope of me getting it all clean by then, but neat and tidy would be good.
So, on that note - is it time to start the September Fly lady challenge Moggins?
Best wishes,

Morning all
((((((((((((dobie)))))))))))) all you can do is be there to support him, hopefully he will come to realise there is a better way to deal with life.
I dropped in to see my DD yesterday on the way home, I'm a bit worried about her as I don't think she is very happy. She looked so worn out and sad to see us go. She knows she is more than welcome to come home whenever she wants but knowing her she doesn't want to look like she's failed.
Nothing much planned for today. I think I've finally hit the bottom of my energy reserves so I'm just going to deal with some laundry and then park myself on the sofa. Extreme Makeover Home Edition is on at 1pm and then I will shove my Cook on the Wild Side DVD's on for the afternoon.
p.s. The sirloin steaks I got reduced in Tesco yesterday were absolutely melt in the mouth delicious, they had a big sticker on saying matured for 21 days so obviously they are learning what customers really want.
Sorry Kaz. Flylady challenge starts a week on Monday, I want both kids out of my hair before I start gutting the houseOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things
