hi all. we''ll we did it - we moved! been in the new place a week, kids love it and feel at home already. we currently have a room filled to the ceiling and to the door with stuff eek! we are planning to start building a shed tomorrow to put some of this stuff.
we decluttered loads before we moved but we still brought stuff we hadn't checked through beforehand. we have been selling old clothes on ebay and plan to do more car boots to get rid of the junk worth something.
being very old style at the mo as no cooker yet, so relying on slow cooker.
good luck to all going back starting new schools! married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
Kaz that's brilliant. I had no idea you'd be off so soon
I hope you didn't have any problems using the vouchers and that you didn't have to put too much money towards the entrance?
I now have one child in bed and another one playing his PS2 in his room so it's peace at last. I just wish DH would get up out of bed so I can cook tea for us as I am starving. Sirloin steak (reduced in Tesco) new potatoes and veggies. My mouth is watering just thinking of itOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

I'm pretty sure if you start cooking he'll soon wake!
I've spent the past two hours looking for a link that I saw on here about a month ago. I'm sooo fed up with it!
Basically I'm going to need a load of jars to cope with the HUGE ammount of plums I found today. The link took me to a website that sold jars cheaply in 'bulk' (30). Pink winged has given me a link to a website that has some similarly cheap prices - but I'm stressing myself out because there was a lot of other cool and cheap suff on there!!! It was a farm supplier, and had a farm kitchen section - I don't suppose anyone on here remembers it?
I was sure I'd bookmarked it, but of course can't find it now.
Ah well.
Anyone know if I can freeze the plums and make the jam at a later date? They're all windfalls so I'll have to cut off the bad bits first - would that be ok too????
Cheers,

Hi, Kaz! Have you tried asking friends and neighbours for jam jars? Any type of widish neck jar will do. I wash out anything that I get - olives, spices, peanut butter, etc. Freecycle, too.
I put a jam recipe on the jam thread for you!

Hiya! No, drove back to the office with my hot-mug of coffee, but ate so many I felt sick  Having a glass of wine now, with a bit of Anthea. DH is out and will be bringing me a pizza on his way back.
Fancy joining us? Red or white?

Thanks Pen pen - off to look at the recipie. I know it's not the most OS way to do things (buying jars) but we've 11lb of these plums and about 5 1/2 of blackberries, so I'm planning on making christmas gifts of jam and wine - and we very rarely use jars. I think pesto and mayo are all we use!
As for my neighbours - they'll all think I've lost the plot if I ask them for jars!
