Could you decide what fabric you want and send one of us who lives closer??? Will they accept curtain orders over the phone if you pay up front and explain to them why you can't get to the shop?

If I was closer I'd make them for you..

Sorry soappie....much as I like you i'm not going to volunteer to go to IK*A for you. Can we make this an IK*A free thread. Actually, the catalogue came through the door recently and i'm tempted :rotfl: xx

Thanks Pigpen - for the Ikea phoning suggestion and for the offer to make them for me if we were closer. But having looked through the Ikea curtains online, it's so difficult to judge the colour properly, it's probably best I try and source locally. Now, if anyone knows of anyone else that does 3 metre lengths...

Have you got a habitat nearby? They do really long curtains. A bit more expensive than IKEA but also a bit better quality fabric. I think they maybe owned by the same company now. I am going to IKEA in a couple of weeks so could get fabric samples if available and post them to you.

Getting nowhere today. Have done some more prunning, I love prunning.

Chicken in the AGA and smells lovely already - only an hour to go.

Right DS1 should be on here not me! Going to find somebody to peel spuds whilst I get the washing in and cut flowers from the garden.

mudbath - all of it that isn't too tough or leaf.

soappie - there's a company called pret a vivre that used to specialise in long curtains. Or you can come to the Curtain Fabric warehouse with me!

G&B - that sounds like a a very nice celebration of someone's life

Went to the allotment after all, and got absolutely covered in mud. Very strange weather, it's warm and muggy, drizzly, and very grey. Not very inspiring. I managed to clear all the weeds from the runner bean bed, so I can just put up the canes and plant next time. I also started clearing the bed for the sprouting broccoli. Our wonderful site manager strimmed the grass all round the edge - I didn't ask him, he just went ahead and did it, so I gave him a bunch of spring onions as a thank you (he'd already said he'd not got any growing, in case you think that's an odd choice!). I had baby carrots, spring onions, lettuce, broad beans and radish to bring home, along with a load more mud...OH will be moaning at me again if it blocks the sink.

I would have liked to go back, but it was raining more, so made a chocolat cake instead, and did some stuff on a plant growing project I'm involved in.

Back to work tomorrow - gardening for a friend, so I hope it's not raining. DD and DS1 have a busy week of exams, so I'm just off to have a cup of tea, and carry on nagging re revision...:D

    Evening All

We'll since getting home from work I have eated a mini magnum yum!), done a HHI and made bread rolls (currently raising). DD1 has sorted through the undies bag too so that is now empty, except for the few odd socks:rolleyes: .

Am getting a bit addicted to ebay, am checking it every half hour or so. Will not look again now till the kids go to bed, honest:A , well will try my best.

You lot are great, how kind to offer to collect stuff from Ikea for someone else. I know in Feb when I had that ball to go too one of you lovely ladies offered me the loan of a choice of ball gowns (you know who you are;) , even if you are too busy with the new boyfriend to post that often:D ). Unfortunatley as I am a porker they wouldnt have fitted me but it just such a lovely thing for someone to do. Our nearest Ikea is Milton Keynes so WHEN I pass my test I may get there one day (hubbie refuses to take me).

Right best get the rolls in the oven.
