  • I would love to go to some of the comps for tickets...
But i would never get a babysitter.,.. As most of them give such short notice..
I agree with you about that totally...
    Just entering.,,, for entering sake..
I enter comps that i know i need,., or would make a nice xmas present.
either for my neice or my 10yr old step son.. or my twin babies..
I would love to enter the holiday comps.. but that is a no no as well..
Babies are too young for holidays at the mo

Oh and i would love to win a Spa Experience but its another i cant enter boo hoo!

lol mj38, your moan was exactly what prompted me to post this morning, I think is soooooo rude not to spend a little time finding out who posted the comp you won and thanking them personally.

As for entering things you can't use, couldn't agree more, I have to painfully leave most gig and theatre ticket comps alone because living on the fair Isle of Wight we can't make it in time/afford the ferries/get back home after etc etc. And many of the weekends/nights away and some of the holidays we can't do for the same reason. ( I would have killed for the AC/DC video shoot but it was just impractical, so I didn't enter, so chuffed RCB got it though :j)

My aim at the mo is to "win christmas", we have some financial issues cos our house has decided to start subsiding  so if I can win a few xmas pressies to help along the way then it's a big bonus. I tend enter things muttering to myself, oooh that would be nice for niece 1 or, nephew 2 would love that etc etc.

But above all it's fun and the most profitable hobby I have ever got hooked on lol

Couple of questions I hope someone can answer!

Is it alright to enter competitions twice? ie. for somebody else aswell - different name, address and email address? Although I do use the same mobile phone number if specifically needed.
I don't bother entering twice to those competitions that say "already entered" etc as I can't be bothered deleting cookies, nor those that require registration.
But is it ok to enter again those that just want name / address, or email entries?

Secondly, those competitions that require you to sign up for a newsletter etc - do you have to sign up for each competition or are you entered automatically?
I'm thinking of musicnews.com in particular.

    Thanks

    Hi Zebra

It really depends on the individual competition, you should check the t's & c's of each one if you intend to enter more than once because they all differ, some may say only one entry per household, some may say one per person, some say one per email and some are even one entry per day and so on. I certainly wouldn't delete your cookies to re-enter one as they will still be able to log that you have already entered.

The newsletter ones again vary, but I have found in my short time comping the majority of them you need to do once only, again look in the t's & c's of each one.

There's loads and loads of helpful stuff here in Velvet Glove's guide too.

(get me being all helpful!! :rotfl:)

    Thanks Nicky

If I read all the T&C's I'd spend all my time reading and no time comping! :D

Do you really think they go to the trouble of tracking IP addresses etc to see whether two entries are from the same person?

Sorry to be a pest but does anyone know the best/right way of bringing a thread back from game over? They've extended Iconic Britain till 1/09 so do we have to ask Kathy73 to change the date then ask a BG to move it back or can a BG do both?

I know it's probably one of the worst comps going but I'm really missing it and cant wait for it to come back :D
