I've been comping since March and in that time i've entered over 2500 comps. What do i have to show for all that effort, not a lot. Ok a nice Iron which i did need :T A DAB radio, whats wrong with that you ask well it is supposed to last for 6 hours on one charge but lasts for no more than 2 hours. It constantly cuts out as it tries to tune itself and the electronic banner is so slow a carrier pidgeon would be faster to tell me what song is playing. A football from Continental tyres that took forever to arrive.

I also won a laptop bag but that has never turned up. I can't email them because like an idot i deleted the email. But still you would expect that if you won something they would have an obligation to send out the prize. And my last win was on the June 30th, the prize a pair of Steal Series Headphones and a CD. Great i thought as i need a new pair of headphones. But after a month of waiting, their email said to wait 28 days for delivery, i emailed them and instead of the headphones i received two crap club anthem CDs. Again if the prize is a pair of headphones you would expect to receive a pair of headphones. I emailed them a couple of more times but have not received any response. How many more times do i email them i don't want to seem petty as it's only a pair of headphones.

But my biggest moan is about the prizes i haven't won. Where is my Plasma TV, Mac laptop, £5000 and flights to New York? I know it's the luck of the draw but 'm getting a bit paranoid and putting my failure down to my address or because i'm a woman. I'm even thinking that i should tick the boxes that ask if i want them to contact me or opt in for their newsletter. Because if i don't they won't put me in the draw. I know it sounds crazy perhaps i've got the beginnings of Comp Madness :rotfl:Yes i'll contine as its become a bit of an Obssessive Compulsive thing. I feel wrong if i don't enter at least five comps a day. But i am flagging and what with watching the Olympics its getting harder to stay enthusiastic. Anyway thats enough of my whinging for one day. :undecided

I would contact the ISP regarding not receiving the prizes you are meant to.
As for not winning much, you say you have entered 2500 since March, so thats approx 500 comps per month? A lot of us enter approx 100 per day, so thats 3000 per month! Maybe you should try to enter more comps if you can, the more you enter the more chance you have of winning. BUT, at the end of the day it is pure luck. Some people have won big prizes after only doing comps for a week or two. It took me about 15 months before I got my first big win! My enthusiam has dropped recently, I think it could be time for me to take a break after nearly 2 years! I've not decided yet.

    Morning all

    My first post here..

I've been Comping here since May and done pretty darn well really (£850 to date :D) and as most people do, I started with the ending lists and got further and further sucked in from there.

What I'd like to say is the rules all make sense NOW!

I have spent the last 3 or 4 weeks weening myself off the CE lists and catching up and am now practically self sufficient in my comping. so...

Bumping! I used to think to myself "why do they moan about this? what does it matter if someone wants to comment on a thread" now I go through the pages daily it makes me want to

Naming Protocol! Why is it so ruddy difficult to look and see what everyone else is doing and follow the lead? hmm?? Capital E, colon, space, two figure day, slash, two figure month, easy peasy!! see look
    > E: 99/99 I'm a newb and I understand!! just in case you don't see why this is nescessary, click on the "thread" header in the main comps forum and try and find all the comps for a certain day.

    etc etc etc...

I won't go on cos I sound like a grumpy cow, but wanted to say that it may take a while for newbs to "get it" but when they do it all makes perfect sense ;)

Oh and if you win a comp, just take a little of your time to find out who gave a little of their time to help you win, and say thanks! (saw someone above mention this the other day and couldn't agree more!!)

Thanks to EVERYONE that posts comps, does lists, and generally helps to keep order, and thaks to the tireless BG's it's very much appreciated :T:beer:

    [/dramatic entrance] ;)
That ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free ;)

At last, we have a 'newbie' that understands and agrees with the rules!!! :j :rotfl:
Seriously though, its good that people do realise that some of us aren't just grumpy old ******** and we rant for a reason!!! :rotfl:

    Nicky63, that's a brilliant post ;) xx

Just come here for a v quick moan about people making ungrateful sounding comments on I Won  I do wish people wouldn't enter comps for things they don't want  There's a tiny minority (but enough to be noticed) of folks who make snide little comments about prizes and some who show absolutely NO gratitude when they've won something e.g. Oh yeah, I had one of those as well...don't remember entering to win that...don't know where it's from...not much good to me...

!!!!!!, wish these people would try and be a bit more thankful cos it doesn't take much to say thanks  even if you don't really mean it

I'm so glad that the majority don't fall into this category :D Just needed to vent! :D

    And breathe..
    Probably playing on fb :o

    Excellent posts Nicky63 and mj38.

I'm so thankful for every single win (even my £1.95 mascara or my 3.5 litres of slug pellets....MWAHAWHAHAHAH DIE SLUGS) - especially because I don't enter comps for something I don't want/can't use. I've not won anything worth over £150 but I'm completely over the moon about every single one of my wins.

I think a lot of people enter comps for tickets without thinking about whether they can attend or they don't bother taking note of the end date (which can sometimes be the night before the event).
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j
