I've just been reading the comments on comps ending!!! I hate the way people are saying the lists are so important to stop them missing comps out and complaining that they only have a few hours a day to catch up!!

All it takes is a few hours a day, and thats without the comps ending, I realy don't see why its so important. It annoys me that so many people are seeing comps as a chore that 'needs' to be done!! I's meant to be fun.

If it was a fact that entering comps as they are posted meant you won more prizes I wonder how many peole would suddenly have the time to use the comps board properly... I just feel like most people are just on here to win. Is not the end of the world if the lists go like some people are making out, if you have a few hours a day you can still enter just as many comps a day because the comps ending list not been there isn't going to stop the amount of threads you can open in that amount of time.

Now that my youngest (2) is getting more demanding I have less and less time to spend on here (I used to be on here all the time when she was little). I've always managed to keep up to date, apart from when i've been on my hols, using the same method as I still use now. It doesn't matter how much spare time you have each day, its easy enough to keep up to date without having to use the comp ending list. Its hardly rocket science leaving yourself a little reminder of which comp you're upto each day!

If theres a chance you won't be able to post the list up at the correct time then don't voluenteer to do it, simple as really. The rules are there for a reason so theres no point questioning them.

Gaaawd I dooo hope the lists get pulled for even a little while, it would make this place much nicer... but oh no what would we have to debate about :eek::D

I was never given any rules when I volunteered. I pm'd a fellow mse'er who advised me to do it as late as I could but never pointed me in the direction of any rules either. I came on here and asked before posting simply because I didn't know. I got no reply so had to take an educated guess, I'm so sorry to the few people this has upset by chosing to post early as opposed to later this morning.

As I've said before, I volunteered simply to help, as I find the lists really useful. It's a time consuming thing to do and I just wanted to give a little back to this very helpful site. To be honest though I'm a little wary of volunteering again though.

If the lists do continue, perhaps only forum members who are more 'au fait' with the rules and regs should be allowed to do it?

Anyway, I feel I can say no more to explain myself.

To be quite blunt I've given up caring if people think I'm being polite or not, I try to make all my posts as polite as possible whilst still showing people the 'rules' of these threads but still apparently I'm 'slating' people - get real!

What's annoying me at the moment is all the 'well I like it early' or 'don't know why we have that rule' etc etc. The fact is we had bedlam a while ago so the rules were made, now that people are ignoring the 'rules' the threads will be pulled (if after all this they are NOT pulled I will be very surprised!) Wish they would hurry and get rid of the blimming lists..
Then there would be nothing to argue over,, Can get back to being
the happy community it should be..

I completely agree, I have only seen you give polite and honest replies but to be honest there is always someone you are going to upset if that is their nature to take things personally, I think we have all given replies thinking we were helpful or being useful but have had it shoved back down our throats.

I think sooner the list goes the better for all concerned.

The sooner diva is back from her hols & we have all the BGs around to have the discussion around the future of lists the better as far as I'm concerned!

I for one - would be really sad to see the lists ending.

I'm not in the best of health, so I can't spend ages on the computer. So I do find the comps ending lists really, really useful.

I don't post that much (cause of the above) but I always, always thank people and try to congratulate people on their wins when I can.

I am always happy and grateful to see and use a list and I've never had any complaints about any lists.

Just wanted to say this really.

as velvetglove said the "The Comping Guide doesn't mention the Comps Ending threads rules - my fault as it isn't something I even think about until they are discussed as I don't use them" so how are new people who didnt use the site before when it was chaos going to know????

everyone is entitled to an opinion but messages like the above Dont promote a good community spirit (or forum etiquette) and IMO they certainly dont look too good to newbies on the site reading these threads for information.

From comments like this this will be my last post on here and i will just be viewing threads from now on.

Just a thought .. maybe why people just view rather than thank.
