Thank you guys for your positive thoughts :)

From a newbies perspective, some guidelines when volounteering would be fab, tonights list was done nearly all on my own steam. Maybe i made the wrong choice by posting so early, if I'd been given proper rules I would have adhered to them (sadly I'm one of lifes good girls) but i chose to think peeps would prefer a sober early listing ti a drunken late one. If I haven't been that crap, I can do one next month?

I'm rambling now so I'll shut up..............

i read with interest re the comp ending discussion and i have read the links and FAQS (which doesnt mention post deadlines etc or at least i couldnt find it).
if one person is allocated to that day alone then what difference does it make what time it is posted (we all have lives away from here but people give up precious time to do this and loads of us appreciate it even if we forget to hit thanks every time) .
i could understand if it were a free for all but as i understand it people are put down for certain days and no one else touches it.so it is only one comp ending post which the BG would look for surely???
this is my opinion only before anyone wishes to shoot me down for posting(finding this more often as well unfortuntely not in the spirit of MSE)

Not quite true. there were problems on one of the days I was down to do comp ending. A genuine mistake, but after spending hours doing the list, a bit soul distroying.
I've stopped offering to do comp endings after trying to stick to the rules.
It was getting quite stressful, especially if you happen to miss a comp or two.

I tend not to use comp ending. If I miss a comp - so what it's not the end of the world. It was my way of giving something back to the forum.

I also feel the the whole idea of comping is to put in some time and effort to reap the rewards, comp ending doesn't do that.

Mse was and is on the most part wonderful. The comp ending lists seemed to start just after I joined mse and seem to have cause so much grief that I think it would be better to get rid of them.

while i use the comps ending thread daily, they have been a lifesaver as i missed 3 weeks of comps back in june/july, i personally feel if they are too much of a hassle for the people organizing then get rid as comping is meant to be fun and enjoybable not all this aggro

Pity we cant search for the comps ending on certain days but as has been said not everyone uses the same layout for the headings.

Shouldn't we start a vote and see what everyone thinks about this? really its down to the organisers though who do the comp ending who have the final say.

    Good morning compers.

About the amount of views for the thread V the thanks. The way these boards work is that it registers a view everytime someone looks at a thread. I've been using the comps ending threads recently just till I catch up but I'll view it about 5 or 6 times but can only Thank the once. I do a group of comps at a time - beauty stuff then later goodie bags - then later clothes, that kind of thing. I also go on again later just to check I have completed the list as I get my days mixed up a a bit.

For the argument about non MSE members using the list, they don't have the facility to Thank and chances are that if someone was so into comping that they enter many comps by not being able to use the Thank button they risk disqualifying themselves by entering twice.

In regards to the comps ending lists been posted early, I think people that are offering to do the lists are aware of the rules. I've only done 1 comps ending list before and I was fully aware of the rules, they are mentioned that many times!! and if people aren't aware of the rules then why are they asking if its okay to post early?? they wouldn't know to ask if they didn't know about the rules

If theres a chance you won't be able to post the list up at the correct time then don't voluenteer to do it, simple as really. The rules are there for a reason so theres no point questioning them.

Gaaawd I dooo hope the lists get pulled for even a little while, it would make this place much nicer... but oh no what would we have to debate about :D
Thanks to everyone that posts :T:money:
