How about, instead of the "comps ending" sticky, there is a "comps ending threads will be deleted" sticky EDIT - I mean during the suspension

I "thank" every comp I look at, whether I enter it or not, just because I think it's hard work looking for comps and then searching to see if it's already posted, etc etc.

I "subscribe" to each comp thread I've entered, so I see at a glance on the forum where I've got to and what I've entered.

I'm doing tonights comps ending (8th August) and was planning to post about 11pm - no problem to leave it until tomorrow morning, if that was the original agreement. Can someone let me know if that's preferred, thanks.

11pm is fine as I won't be able to sticky it until the morning, It was asked if they could not be posted before 8/9pm

OK I'll say it. Those that are very pro keeping the lists seem to say they like them as they don't have enough time to comp otherwise........so are quite happy for someone else to spend approx 2 hours a day in order to make life easy for them. Have I got that right as it just seems so wrong to me and not what the forum used to be.

We already post the answers as it is. Surely thats enough isn't it?

I feel for those who have already said they'll do the lists but don't want to. But hey, its supposed to be fun and if you don't want to do it, then don't. And for those that want to contribute, why not answer some of the newbie questions if you can't find any new posts to comp.

Personally I (regrettably) voted for the lists last time but I've never used them and would never make one. Oh how I wish I could take that vote back

I also think it's worth remembering that the lists were introduced without discussion or votes. Nobody even asked the BG's. One person started doing them with the very best of intentions as a way of keeping herself busy during a difficult time. Perhaps there are people who've only joined this year who thought that the lists have always been here, or that lots of people were asking for them before they were introduced? That certainly wasn't the case at all.

I think if that first one had never been done then the board would be very different today :rolleyes:

I think you've hit the nail on the head there - as someone who started comping in May - I thought that they were always part of the board and it's only by reading the discussions in the recent weeks that I relised that wasn't the case.

Lord oh Lord!! I spend 4 days away (on a bit of a bender for my brothers wedding) & I come back to find a parallel universe.

Ginjim has got no clothes (?!) Suspended threads, comps ending list controversy, and mouldy cheese (Ok, maybe I added that last one meself!:rolleyes: )


I really need to get up to speed!! No more drinking for RCB (until tonight anyway!!) :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks - seriously though - wth happened?? All was harmonious when I left, and now this!

The 4 day bender was very good indeed - it's the days after that's not so good!! My head & body hurt! :rotfl:

Briefly? Hmm..

Basically, the competitions ending lists never used to be on here...they appeared, there were arguements...there were rules decided....these rules have gradually been broken again...people are getting annoyed again.

I think...:rotfl:

*Edit* TBh though, I don't think theres much disagreement, I think the majority of people that have posted on here are ready for the list to be scrapped altogther..it's just getting that done that's getting people riled up
