Oh right. I have no use for that, I just carry on from where I left it the night before. I'm playing catch up at the moment anyway so I just send myself an email when i'm finished for the day with the details of the comp I am up to and work forward from that the next day.
NOW IN COMPING SEMI-RETIREMENT!

I've just started googling for competitions in the last week to try to find comps. So far I have googled using the following phrases - and I found quite a few competitions (and subsequently posted them on here):
competition closing date 31st August 2008
competition prize win computer
competition prize win mobile phone
competition terms and conditions
prize draw terms and conditions
prize draw win competition giveaway £100
prize draw win competition giveaway £500
win a family holiday competition
Obviously you can modify the search terms above adding specific terms or prizes e.g. "competition prize win laptop".
Quite often the search would turn up closed/ended competitions but you can normally find your way to the competitions page on the website and find the latest comps on there instead.
Googling "terms and conditions" was quite tricky as you'd have to guess your way back to the competition that the terms and conditions were referring to, but this was by far my most productive search term.
Happy Googling!!:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0 -
Lol if i kept records i would be devasted on how much time i spend entering and how much of that i have lost...
Its a hobby i enjoy... but i see Laura's point of the unfairness of non reg users using the work we have done searching...Comping & Coupons!0 -
Thought I'd just add my opinion to the mix... I know it's not worth much because I'm a newbie, but I really, genuinely appreciate the comps ending thread and I understand the hard work that goes into it. I think as long as there's willing volunteers to do it (I include myself because I'd be more then willing to tackle it), there's no reason why it should end. And if you're against it, just avoid it completely - because negative comments are part of the reason why there's so much tension about the whole thing.
I agree with peej about the lurkers thing - getting rid of the thread wouldn't get rid of them, they'd still be entering the competitions. In fact, they'd probably use the board more frequently to keep up with the competitions, so it's a Catch-22 really.0 -
What we have to remember here is that this is a forum, not a dedicated comping website, there are plenty of those around if you want upto date infomation and details etc
We are just a subsection of a major website, and the changes that have been made (good or bad) are part of an inevitable? evolution progress, but is it too far?, This board use to be fun, the banter was good but I have seen more and more sniping and complaints over the years as both a BG and a regular comper.
I don't think we can please everyone all of the time and I don't think we ever will
Just enjoy it0 -
I never thought of using littleholly's method before, maybe one to have a think over?
The board is always going to have a lurkers no matter what we do, does Kipper or the other BG have the final say in it? If the comp ending threads go there will always be other ways to comp, it's just a matter of finding them.
I certainly don't use JUST those threads, I try to keep up with the board as much as possible but like to just check on those for any good ones I might have missed.2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0 -

As far as I am aware no we don't, we can say our piece but the final say goes to "Head Office" :rotfl:0 -
If they are causing as much hassle as some people think they are, personally I don't think it's too bad apart from one or two RARE occasions, then just decide to get rid & do it. See if after a month or two the board changes again?2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0
