Bicarb soda is amazing at getting smells from nearlly anywhere if its used properly. We moved into a new flat that had a fridge but they had turned it off while nobody was there so my lord it stunk - and stank out the kitchen everytime we opened. Within 24 hours of the bicarb clean and then leaving a little dish of uncoivered bicarb in there it became absolutely odourless - amazing! And cheap too!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0

You could try the Milton steralizing fluid that is used for babies bottles!0

I have a cleaning company and I am often asked to find out what an awful, and it is truly awful, smell is in a property and it is nearly always the fridge and usualy because it has been switched off and the door left closed. If you have a steamer and feel in the mood use it on the fridge it gets all sorts of muck out of the corners and from the rubber seals and it's awful to see what has been lurking in those places even when it look clean and all that stuff must smell.Loretta0 -
I often lurk on this board and am hoping you old stylers will have some tips...
I don't know what has caused it but my fridge has suddenly began to smell. Initially I thought that it came from the veg baskets so I took them out and washed in v hot soapy water, they now smell fine (not yet back in fridge). However the smell is still in there. I have tried sniffing around the fridge and can't pinpoint it to any area. I have thrown out anything that could have been causing it but the smell is still there. OH got a fridge fresh thingy but that is making no difference. I have had all the shelves out and washed them and the fridge with hot soapy water but still no difference. Can anyone suggest a better way to get rid of the smell?? I assume its cause was an item I have now thrown but the smell lingers.
Thanks

yeah, it was probably something you have chucked now, in which case it will go of its own accord, but have you tried a cut lemon or some bicarbonate of soda?A friend is someone who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden.0

I wash out my fridge with a mix of water, bicarb and vinegar and that does the trick.NSD 0/150

I sometimes use a steamer to defrost the freezer and clean the fridge out.
That helps to get in the nuts & crannies what the hand cant reach!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
have you checked the drainage hole at the bottom? - sometimes bits can get trapped there and start to rot/grow whiskers!
Also check your door seals, inside and out in case there is anything lurking!
Good luck!
Cheers

Try putting a bit of instant coffee granules on a piece of kitchen towel and leave for 24 hours it worked a treat for me.0
