ive also used a egg cup half full of vanilla essence and sat that in the fridge - dont know how but it seems to abosrb the smell .....good luck'Normal' is a dryer setting.0

Also, check that the drainage hole is not blocked, that can sometimes cause a smell too. I flush mine with a solution of bicarb after poking about to loosen anything trapped in there.0

I agree it could be the drain, I use a cotton bud soaked in white vinegar to get into the hole to clean it then I use a clean cotton bud with Bicarb on it and wipe the whole fridge out with Bicarb and hot water.
The smell could also be caused by spilt milk, I use the same method to clean it outBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

My fridge is old and terrible, we can't replace it as it's part of the rented house so is there an OS way to deodorise our fridge? The smell is really terrible despite the fridge being clean and it contains no old food.0

try bicarb I believe that is suppose to help.
But have no idea how you use it. A damp cloth.

Hi GlasweJen,
There's an earlier thread that should help so I've added your post to it to keep the replies together.

Joining the club.
Went on holiday 2 and a bit weeks ago. Plant waterer opened fridge for first time yesterday to put some milk in for us. Uh oh. We had been without power for some time. So it's the rotting food problem, on a massive scale - we have two fridge freezers and a separate freezer. So far, we've let the stuff re-freeze over night so we can take it all to the dump today (back to work? maybe not, especially as DH seems to have lost his wallet somewhere between Leeds Bradford Airport and home). And then we'll have to do a big shop -all the sauces, etc, I keep are gone too.
Does anyone know what kind of proof the insurance company will need? It was a power surge, not a human failure, as the digibox was killed as well (despite being on a surge protector). I don't want to throw it all out and then found we should have done a list or taken pictures.Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000 -
I've a portable fridge at work that has had some milk left in it. I think the fridge has had a problem and in this heat the milk has gone REALLY off. The fridge stinks to high heaven!!
I am going to attempt to clean it tomorrow and wondered what was best to use. When I've attempted to clean it, I've some bicarb and I believe that's meant to help reduce odour....what would I do with it?!
Really not looking forward to cleaning this tomorrow: I cannot stand the smell of off milk and in this heat too :eek:MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

Definitely bicarbonate of soda and boiling water. I usually just dip a wrung out cloth into it before applying it. You can always leave a small saucer of bicarb in the fridge after you have cleaned it to remove any lingering smells.
