You're supposed to wash the fridge with the bicarbonate of soda solution, not just leave it in there.
If the best way of storing strawberries and raspberries was in the fridge, don't you think that the supermarkets would do this?
But where I shop the shelving area is chilled ok not as cold as a chilled unit for say butter etc but it certainly isn't out on a shelf in the main shop like bread or tins would be.0 -
Thanks for the hints, one hint did say to leave the bicarb in there but when I emptied it and cleaned it I didn't have any so I will do it again in the morning as I got some this pm.
At least it isn't very hot at the moment so things can be left out for a while.
If there are any other hints doesn't matter how wacky then I will give them a go......even oh was moaning that his beer tasted funny (I think that was more to do with the fact that he put some bottles on the prawns and the juice leaked over the glass ha ha.....actually, it was probably his fault that the bag split)0 -
I have heard that coffee grounds absorb nasty smells. It might be worth a try. Good luck0

Charcoal is also meant to absorb nasty smells.0

I have heard half an onion does the trick and have used this myself , after washing though so not sure which worked ? But worth a shot.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0

I defrosted some smoked fish in the fridge a couple of days ago and it still stinks! I've wiped it out with multi purpose cleaner but it hasn't helped. Is there anything I can put in the fridge to absorb the smell? Any advice gratefully received...it really does stink!0

Lemon juice or vinegar are natural deodouriseres so I'd use a spray bottle (dilute up to 50:50 with water) with one of them to clean it out. Then sprinkle bicarbonate of soda in a shallow tray to pop inside and absorb the smell - it's what fridge fresheners are made from.0

I keep a ramekin with salt & lemon juice in on a shelf in the fridge & it stops it getting smelly.0

I put a cut up lemon in my fridge when I have something smelly to go in there, but most of the time like others I keep a little pot of bicarb in there.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
