My bugbear is when I tell people about Quidco, free money when they want to change utilities, buy stuff online and they say ah its more hassle than its worth....Why? Ive made over £300 on quidco just by changing insurance etc not even buying things.

Totally with you on this one.

For example my contents and building were well over £500 to renew this year, but got a decent quote and then went through Topcashback, and got the lot for effectively £140. (I have a non standard build house, so most sites won't quote me, unless I call them!)

Even then my friends said it's not worth the hassle, they'll stick with what they've got. I sent them the referral link from TPC, which earns me cash, but as yet none of them have bothered, as they don't want the effort of going through another website! Then they have the cheek to moan about how much insurance costs!

Yes, I have to agree that one friend of mine has made a fortune since I told him about quidco and topcashback - he travels the world for work, so books all his hotels, trains, etc through quidco on expenses, but is able to pocket the cashback himself.

He has made a bundle and always thanks me when he sees me.

So it is not all bad!!!

I introduced a colleague to Quidco and he has earned over £500 in just three months by renewing all his insurance and utilities through them. Not only did he thank me but he gave me a bottle of wine. I think he got a free case of wine when he opened a bank account or something - that's my boy, he's learned loads!

Poosmate, I am sure years ago I lived in a house where the lights were controlled by a button you pushed in and was on some sort of time switch, and they automatically went out after (x) minutes, these were in the hall ways / garage / kitchen of the house, maybe some thing like this might help your lodger!

Supermarkets are my bug bare, again different brands, my friend will only by expensive tins of stuff, as she says she doesn't want the bin recyclng men / women to think she has no money, does she really think the bin men / women really have time to worry about what sort of tins she is recycling? she really does need to find some else to occupy her time!!!

My other bug bear (ooh there will be loads of them that I remember before the day is out) is people who assume that because we work in good jobs and do extra 2nd/3rd jobs that we are rolling in money, and that they can therefore cadge off us!!!

I am quite cagey about our debt......don't go shouting about it, but even so.........one [STRIKE]friend[/STRIKE] person I tolerate actually said to me that because we must have loads in the bank, where as she is a single parent who can't even get a credit card blah blah blah, she couldn't see why I wouldn't lend her so that her son could go skiing.......

......yes the same skiing that me and OH work our backsides off 24 hours a day in order to send our kids!!!!!

    ......and breathe!!

People who go on the attack because we have a big tv, games consoles, etc as well as having debt. They don't know the circumstances we got them under and so shouldn't judge.

Thats a bloody good one Hypno

I have the same gripe....always getting snidey remarks about "Being loaded" as we both have good jobs, or being "MONEY GRABBING" that makes my blood boil as I also do mystery shops etc. I have actually had someone say, "why do you do all this other stuff, you two must be loaded".

Of course we are...we have a mortgage 2 cars and 2 kids that all cost nothing.

People also think that if you have nice things then you must "STILL" have loads of money.....dont they realise that it you buy things the money pot actually goes down:mad:
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
