hi there just returned from lanzarote and sat through the sales technique from this companies reps. Almost signed up but when looking through the letters from satisfied customers came across a couple who had gone on line panicking about this company. Enough to alert us not to sign. Am sorry you got caught.0 -
Club Select Holidays UK are nothing to do with Club Select Holidays. Club Select Holidays based in the Canary Islands has been trading for many years with thousands of satisfied customers.
Craig Park was allowed for a brief time period under licence, to Sell Club Select Holidays, but this permission was withdrawn in October 2005, when craig Park set their own product up (Club Select Holidays UK)
If you have a genuine Club Select Holidays membership, with genuine CSH Gold Card, please use the telephone numbers and reservations e-mail addresses provided with your brochures in your Membership pack.

Hi Daijames, welcome to the forums.
Could you tell me how long a typical club select holiday membership lasts, & how much a typical customer pays during their membership, so the cost to join plus all their annual fees. Would a guess of between £50k & £150k be correct?
Look forward to hearing from you. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

My family have been ripped off by Club Select Holidays UK Ltd. Due to my father's ill health I'm now pursueing the task of recovering their money. They paid out £2,500 in Aug 2005. Please email me and inform me how I can recover the money. I'm personally making it my mission to recover the cash and helps others from my example. Please assist.0

Membership fees are set by the licensed marketers, but I guess an average would be about £2500 for a ten year membership. The aditional costs are a fixed yearly subscription of £69 this subscription helps pay the wages and running costs of the club, brochures, staff etc. The subscription is fixed at the time of joining for the period of membership. (we still have members on a £5 annual sub who joined in the 70's)
As most of our members take on average 2-3 Holidays a year, (membership covers all family members) and the club makes no profit on the holidays / flights arranged, for most the cost of membership is more than covered, depending on the type of holiday the cost of joining can be recouped in 1 holiday.
So your guess at 150K is probably way off the mark, you cannot really factor in the amount the club member spends on the holidays over the period.0 -

I paid this company £3995 in May 2005 following a 'presentation' at Graig Park in North Wales. They have offered me no holiday worth having and they have never answered any letters. I receive an annual bill from them for £59 which I do not pay. I would like to join you in your mission. I am new to this site and do not know the protocol. for making personal contact.0 -

I have submitted a claim for a return of monies paid to the companies via the on line small claims. ( moneyclaims.gov.uk )
Same as yourself we listened to all the sweet talk.
But afterwards we realised we had been lied to and most of what they said was misleading. I have posted previously more details of the situation.
If and when i am successful i will let you know.

Dear Chris
I am new to this site. See my reply to Recover Cop. There must be hundreds/thousands of people with similar stories. How can we act together to bring this company to account? I wish you the best of luck and please keep me informed

Hi daijames, thanks for taking the time to reply.
Why can you not factor in the amount a club member spends on the holidays? How can you compare the cost with other holidays? So as well as the £69 a year you have to pay for flights? How much are scheduled flights? Are there any other admin fees such as cleaning? I've no idea what facilities are provided at your resorts, but are there charges for say, tennis courts?
Unless you can be a bit more open I have no reason to suppose that it isn't £50k +From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

the basis is that a client gives us X amount to join the club followed by an annual subscription of X amount, *fixed at the time of joining.
For that we arrange holiday services , flights, hotels, apartments, car hire, at cost price, that is to say where we get paid comission through our agencies, we deduct that. We have a choice of over 80.000 places, some we have direct contracts with, others we obtain through suppliers. If a location becomes popular with our members , we will contact direct to cut out the middle man and pass this saving on. There are times that we cannot beat prices, and they generally are when you have a specialist company dealing with a specialist type of holiday, or flight which pay very low comissions. In the case of flights a lot of times we cannot beat the prices offered by the low-cost carriers because they pay no comission, but part of the service to the member is to find the lowest cost, not the best saving, so we will match the holiday accom to the lowest possible price, which is part of the service.
The only cost that is mandatory is the £X subscription fees as this goes to cover running costs. So on any holiday clients can choose.
This is the reason you cannot factor holiday costs, because the only money we basically recieve as a company, is opart of the original joining fee, and the yearly subscription.0
