It must have Summer, if you are not earning you cannot pay any bills, but surely your OH has other things he pays, for instance gym membership, as a BR they will not allow you to have such luxuries, but surely they cannot deny your OH having them. I hope that makes some sense, my brain aches today!

I do not even know what my mum earns and why should I, she is my mum, she pays her way here, more than pays it right now in fact, but I do feel very odd that they may want to know the ins and outs for her, she would be mortified.

She lives with me, yes she is my mother, but she could be any old lodger could she not!

I am on a very down day, but all help Dalip is very much appreciated.

Summer do you get any benefits at all?

No, none. I never claimed jobseekers as always hoped each month, I would be well enough to work but it never happened, and I haven't claimed incapacity benefit either. Worked fulltime for 22 years, never claimed a thing in my life. So the past 20 months, I did a couple of short temping jobs and just always thought things would sort themselves out, and just never felt comfortable claiming, though in hindsight, probably should have.

    Summer & Rly
Only i went bc. On my SOA i only put half of all bills(utility) as my OH's CONTRIBUTION to the household. At my interview the OR only wanted to know what OH's rough wage was on the lead up to bc. At no point have they asked what he earns now,his wage slips, what debts he has ect ect. So don't worry. I will get one of the others to confirm what i already know, that they do not take OH/MOTHERS ECT WAGE INTO CONSIDERATION ONLY THEIR CONTRIBUTION,which are 2 totally diff things. Give me 5 mins.D

I'd agree with dalip....I had no income other than benefits & I listed my OH contributions only they didnt question what she earned or asked for wage slips etc....so you wont be looking at an IPA if you have no surplus cash left at the end of the month...that would go on your cash & nobody elses...I certainly didnt receive one and with the looks of things neither will you

Thanks for that. She said I had to put OH's total contributions on the SOA, which is 100%, and I had to bring in proof of his income. a payslip, as you have to prove what is put down as income on the SOA?

sounds to me like the OR is just playing safe.....just double checking your details to make sure your not making things up...sometimes depends on which offices the OR will ask for proof of benefits/income and spending...as your case will probably have come across as unusual no income no payments towards things...
I was asked the exact same question when I had my interview back in march....and as i say nothing has come from it since & i've been discharged since Nov
easier said but i'd try not to worry

This was the meeting with the Debt Specialist at the CAB today. She seemed pretty certain OH's salary would come into it, and I would have to provide proof of his income. Oh well, I will bring everything with me, just in case. Thanks for your help.

If the OR asks for proof of income then you've got everything...I didnt read through your post from the start as I've only just come on & had a PM from someone to have a look so didnt realise you'd only seen a specialist....the only way your OH's salary comes into anything to do with your BR is what they contribute to nothing else.....as long as you yourself dont have any surplus cash at the end of every month around £99 then NO ipa can be set up...especially not including your OH's salary or anybody elses cash
