Morn summer
I did 4 copies of my SOA by hand:eek: the first one rough, then when i was happy with it i copied it to the 3 for court. My thinking was i would get the rough copy for myself, pretty clever eh. Yes until they gave me another copy back, stamped in court.
The I&E is what the OR sends so it is not in with your SOA.
Just list all your outgoings. Put the total, then put this total as your OH's contribution Where it asks for yours just put nil.
I had a company pension(from about 26yrs ago) which when i left that company i never paid any more money into. The OR said they don't normally touch pensions but i suppose it would depend on the type.
Have a nice day filling all those foms in:D D
Why thank you for your good wishes. It was too nice to stay in today but am home now and about to tackle it. Will fill in what I can, then take it to the Debt Specialist on Tuesday and see what they say. OH printed off 6 copies at work, so I have some to mess up.
The 2 questions, when did you first start having financially difficulties and then why did you get into debt?
Its been so long going on, I can't remember the answer to either.:rotfl:

Hi Summer, I have the same problem when I took out the IVA for me at the time that was it, how wrong I was! I think why did I get into debt should be fairly simple if you can look at what loans you took out Summer and when and what they were for! but as you say when it has been going on for a long time you tend to forget what was for what and when! Good Luck on Tuesday. Some Days are Diamonds Some Days are Stones,Sometimes the hard times won't leave meBSC 162:beer:Banktupt 22 Oct 2008 at 10am!0

I have just read your thread, well done for posting. My OH has ME so I do understand, he has to work full-time but I don't think he has a serious case of it, but I do need to keep an eye on him, re diet, getting enough sleep, keeping him away from stress.....so me going BR isn't the best thing at the mo but he knows that its for the best and we will have a brighter future ahead."Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, except backwards and in high heels"

Holy cr&p, excuse my French. Just done a first run through on the form, probably done about 60% of it. If you are thinking of going BR, do print out that 30 page form, and give yourself plenty of time. I should take my own advice.
Got loads of phone calls to make tomorrow now.Don't know dates when I first got some CCs out as I only keep the past 6 months worth of statements, got paperwork re pensions but they need a lot of info on the form, so going to have to ring up about that...left Outgoings page blank at the mo, still confused, as its my BR form, and I don't pay any Outgoings.
Do I put what comes out every month on there, even though its my OH that pays it. Doesn't say anywhere on the form that says it is he that is contributing.
Still haven't told sis yet, or that we have changed our number...I'm such a chicken!I will tell her soon, just wanted to see the Debt Specialist first. She knows I am having anxiety attacks and that we are worried about money, so being fairly honest with her, but she is so careful with money, I feel that I have let her down....but I am sure she would rather see me actually doing something about it now.

Anyone have any tips on this please? x"Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, except backwards and in high heels"

Can you leave this til you meet the debt specialist, as they will know what you have to do there on that part I am sure. And in making that decision you stop the stress on yourself til you see them. Some parts of these forms are just so hard to fathom out, but I am positive the people you are going to see will know exactly where you have to put what etc.
Take care Summer. Some Days are Diamonds Some Days are Stones,Sometimes the hard times won't leave meBSC 162:beer:Banktupt 22 Oct 2008 at 10am!0 -
Yes, I can do that. Was just trying to get as much filled in as poss before the meeting as we only have an hour appointment. If I was earning, it wouldn't be a problem, just confused myself as I have no income. Thanks. x"Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, except backwards and in high heels"

I think if you can fill in all that you can, and have the pages earmarked that need to have more filled in, have a list of notes with you, and questions written down, so you do not come away and think "damn forgot to ask about so and so" I know an hour goes very quickly but if you go in with as much done as you can I am sure you will have the time to sort out the important parts that you are finding hard to fill in. Believe it or not I have not even looked at this 30 page document yet, I did not dare today, I wanted to try to keep positive and I am sure that document is going to take any positives away right now!
You can always ask if you can call them if you have any more queries and see what he or she or they say? worth a shot.
Having been thru the IVA I already had advice, sadly from them, which now seems to have been very silly, but the CAB recommended them, sorry Payplan I mean. I will be calling one of these charities as soon as I have more information from the Payplan IVA agent or whatever she calls herself.
At least I have chatted here over the weekend, and cooled off a bit, I was very down then very angry, so good job I had the two days, or this lady may have got the rough end of my tongue, which is not the way to go about this.
Only the part of your OH income that supports you I think will be used, ie half of the bills, mortgage or rent, food, hair cuts, as I would think his own personal things like hair cuts, petrol for his car and things are not to be taken into account, but I am not sure on that issue. I only know someone has told me they cannot take all my mothers earnings into account, only what she pays me in rent/food or towards the cost of those, which for me is £200 per month, which was what the IVA people were told.
It is nearly here Summer and when you have the information I am positive you will still be worried but your mind may not be as all over the place as it is now.

Well its been a productive day. I was really tempted to sit in the back garden with my niece all afternoon but was a good girl and didn't.
3 /12 hours later, I have done about 90% of the form. :T I've learnt more about my financial situation in the past couple of hours than I knew the past few months! Terrible, isn't it.Wasn't that bad once I got stuck in.
It just showed me how clueless I was, that I had no idea what really was going on re our finances. It will be a new me, a fresh start after I have gone through BR, I want to feel in control, know exactly what is coming in and going out, hopefully be able to save up little bits here and there, and just sleep well at night. I also found out about 3 small pensions I had paid into a few years back. I knew I had them but took no notice of them at all. I had NO idea how much they were worth, so that was interesting. Not worth that much and no idea if I can hold onto them, but we'll see what happens.
Quite looking forward to the meeting tomorrow, I am prepared and know what I want to ask. Many thanks to all on here and special ta to Dalip."Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, except backwards and in high heels"

Well done Summer, I can say having gone for the IVA I have learnt to not rely on anything other than me, and obviously my mum helps. I have no credit cards, no overdraft, no cheque book, so I guess in some ways bankruptcy is not going to come as such a huge shock for me as it will others. Not that it makes it any less daunting though. I hope this will also help the OR realise I have not done anything wrong since the IVA in August 2005, and have had to live within my means, sadly that is obviuosly harder due to the illness and having had to cut my hours.
I am sure you will feel much better after your meeting tomorrow Summer, I also think speaking to someone face to face is so much better than the phone, although I will have to use the phone to ring these people I have been advised to speak to, as it was said the judge asks if you have taken advice and the last reply I want to make is NO!
I sympathise with the not knowing Summer, it is only when you look long and hard you wonder where the hell you have kept your head for so long. It can be quite scary finding out, but it can also be very liberating to know you are now doing something about it, and will take more control over it in the future.
