Meeting with Debt Specialist went very well. :j She was 20 mins late, which didn't help my stomach, had been churning all morning. :o

Explained to her that it was just me going BR and not OH as majority of debts were in my name and thought it best that one of us was leper free :rotfl: - and also that he had a good job and I was not working. I asked her to look through the BR forms that I had done. She went through it all with me and we talked about it, and she said how thoroughly impressed she was and how much homework I had done on the subject and did I want a job there! :rotfl: She said she could see I had done a lot of soul searching and agreed it was the best option for the both of us. I explained to her about being off work with depression then losing mum and said it had just spiralled out of control, and she was really lovely. She said its not the stigma it once was and no-one reads the papers! I said they probably do but I didn't care, the people I want to know, will know, and I don't give a stuff about anyone else thinks, its our lives and our decision and its best for us. She gave me the number of the Court I need to ring and also said I should try and claim Incapacity Benefit as the doctor has signed me off.

She did say, however, which confused me, that I will have an IPA as even though I have no income, OH's income will be taken into account. Oh well, if it is, it is!

She said to take a picture of my car and take it with me, as its only worth £400 and is in a real state, she said that might help.

She also said OR could force the sale of the flat, as in reduce the price so it goes quicker, but she said he will probably be pleased that we have already got it on the market as it saves them a lot of work, and could very well just leave it until it sells. We just cannot wait to get into rented and be mortgage free for a bit, will feel good!

OH just sat there quietly, bless him, I told him that I would do the talking...nothing new there then  and it had been me that had filled in the forms, he said it best if I just got on with it. He did ask her one question then forgot what it was. She just laughed. :rotfl: Good job its just me and not OH going BR or I would have been doing two 30 page forms!

Anyway, I hadn't done anything wrong on the forms and the couple of things I had left out, she went through with me. Need to remember to bring a copy of the Lease on the flat and proof of OH's income as well.

Will let you know when I have a date. Thanks to everyone for the ongoing support, means so much!!

:T Hi Summer, well done YOU, and you OH for being there for you.

Your post however has confused me now as well, as I was told they would not take mums money into account, now worried they will! which for me will be grossly unfair, she has her own bills and debts to pay each month and it is not her going BR, no more than it is your hubby. Will he then need and I&E to prove what he has to pay out, what his spending goes on.

I do hope someone comes on that has had to do this.

Well Summer it is one step nearer now for you, keep sane, and keep smiling.

Sorry if it has worried you, just thought it best to post what she said, so I could perhaps get some clarification. Confused me too! I thought as it was just me going BR, his finances wouldn't come into it, apart from what he contributes to the household expenses.

Oh no please do not apologise Summer, all information is vital, even if I dont like the sound of it, better to be prepared as the scouts say!

I have had a right crapp day to be honest with you, as we all know, they come round, but have to try to not cry and get upset as that will not help my illness or anything else come to that! but right now feel like it will all overspill any second. Coming here helps me immensly and having people like you Summer to keep me sane and make me smile as well.

I had a game plan for today, will post in my thread shortly, it kinda got a bit out of hand, still not to worry, at least the sun is shining, two people here have been to court, and you have been to your advisors so great to read for people like me still in limbo.

Sorry you have a bad day. It is hard, good days and bad days, I have had at least one anxiety attack a day since my LBM about a month ago, shows how much money worries affect our health! But I do feel better today, and when I have the Court date, will give me something to work towards. It helps me so much reading your thread and others going through it and who have come out the other end, this place is a godsend!!

It is a godsend Summer, as right now today I think I would have just wanted to cry and scream. I am so pleased my friend sent me here, as no matter what s*hit is thrown my way I know I have people here who will respond to questions or just send a cyber hug.

Like you have said about making sure you had the right details for your forms, for me coming here has at least opened my eyes to what this is going to be like, that there are people I can phone for advise etc.

I just read Jonos post and that made me cry I knew I was close to tears, maybe better to just get them out!

Only i went bc. On my SOA i only put half of all bills(utility) as my OH's CONTRIBUTION to the household. At my interview the OR only wanted to know what OH's rough wage was on the lead up to bc. At no point have they asked what he earns now,his wage slips, what debts he has ect ect. So don't worry. I will get one of the others to confirm what i already know, that they do not take OH/MOTHERS ECT WAGE INTO CONSIDERATION ONLY THEIR CONTRIBUTION,which are 2 totally diff things. Give me 5 mins.D
